A smart CLI helper & thermal/memory cooldown protector for Linux Hibernation.
soja (meaning "go to sleep") is an intelligent hibernation management module for Linux (Fedora, Arch, Debian/Ubuntu).
While hibernating continuously keeps your session open across days, running without a clean system reboot eventually accumulates kernel RAM fragmentation and hardware thermal load.
soja acts as a smart guardian:
- Tracks continuous uptime and hibernation spans across days.
- Under 5 Days: Instantly hibernates your machine (
systemctl hibernate). - 5+ Days Continuous Span: Warns you in the terminal that a system cooldown is recommended, giving you an interactive choice to [1] Shutdown, [2] Reboot, or [3] Hibernate anyway.
Clone the repository and run setup.sh:
git clone https://github.com/VinayakGhai/soja.git
cd soja
sudo ./setup.shNow simply type soja anywhere in your terminal!
Run the self-contained .AppImage binary without installation:
chmod +x soja-1.0.0-x86_64.AppImage
./soja-1.0.0-x86_64.AppImageSimply open any terminal window and run:
