Yes, this hwole sentence related to DOGE seems very irrelevant given the Commission has successfulyl warded them off, maintining independence “Instead of doing the bidding of Trump family businesses, Chair Atkins and the SEC must do their duty to the American people " https://www.politico.com/news/2025/04/30/trump-sec-musk-atkins-crypto-warren-00308158

Missed the exact line you were talking about since things moved around, but feel free to chime back in or make any changes around the introduction and practical invention of this problem! 💜 |

This merges a branch of changes from Chives as announced. Moreover, I added my own commits responding to items raised:
Addressed point 3 by Chives, which involves a weird function at L280 that just needs the infra note {{^staff-gme-study}}. Also fixed the hanging subsubsubsection at L475 in ¶7.
(Re Bob) Clarified the introduction and how Tim was a normal retail investor on the right side of a trade but the wrong side of the trading desk.
(Re Bob) Replied about the part in §1.2.3 where I say I voted for the admin. I forgot about this in the editing rush, but it was something I had put in closer to the election turnout time. I also think it doesn’t do much to help and was planning/considering/forgetting to remove it—especially given the nonpartisan nonprofit requirements. (Are those retroactive? Who knows, but better safe, right?)
Put in the FOIA request because it got glanced over. The '87 study would be great from NASD, but I’ll backlog that for another comment since I want to make sure they have old archives first with this well-known one.
Moved the reminiscent (Update TAR-S7-27-15.md #25) international question from L951 under the introductory community umbrella section.
Implemented recommendation from Chives to archive Reddit posts. I originally thought to do this with a service I’ve seen the community use in the past which is not
archive.org, but I noticed that they went down. Glad everyone’s on the "common standard" of Internet Archive; I just didn’t know here.Implemented idea around ~L400, covering "whimsical hypothecation facilities"—perhaps can refer back to the comments around ~L223.
Responded to ¶8 by moving the info into a TODO section, since I believe we’ll be able to more thoroughly comment on this in the next letter with the FOIA response. It's not a make-or-break point to include when referencing the OCC’s changes.
Addressed point 10 by bringing the introduction of §3 into a final point at a new §3.3.
Thanks so much for getting this together on such short notice 💜💜
