Cybersecurity Team Challenges

By dedicating 40 hours to this intensive program, you'll work closely with professionals, immersing yourself in real-world cyber challenges. This immersive experience offers unparalleled insights into the cyber industry, equipping you for job interviews and the high-pressure situations faced during critical cyber hacks. You will create incident response reports for every challenge and regularly update leadership. Moreover, after each session, you can interact with company professionals, broadening your network and enhancing future connections.

40-hour Schedule

Challenges include

  • Threat Analysis

  • System Hardening

  • Identifying New Threats

  • Phishing Forensics

  • Boardroom Debriefs

Hours 1-8: Your First Cyber Position

Challenge: Threat Analysis

Welcome to the cyber frontline! Along with peers, you join an esteemed Cyber investigative team supporting various stakeholders. Engage with cyber leadership, delve into substantial cyber threats, and strategize to counteract them effectively.

Hours 9-16: Threat Intelligence

Challenge: System Hardening

With cyber adversaries attempting to sabotage key company platforms, you'll work collaboratively to pinpoint potential threats and discern code tampering. Conclude the session by presenting a robust system-hardening proposal to the leadership.

Hours 17-24: Zero-Day

Challenge: Stuxnet

You will be provided information on the Stuxnet zero-day based on the available sources. Stuxnet is a notorious computer worm, believed to have been designed by U.S. and Israeli intelligence, that aimed to disrupt a significant segment of the Iranian nuclear program. This worm exploited four zero-day vulnerabilities, which are software vulnerabilities unknown to the software vendor or antivirus vendors at the time of exploitation. In discovering such vulnerabilities, a dedicated cyber team must move swiftly to patch them, update their threat intelligence, and ensure all systems are safeguarded against the identified threat. Awareness and rapid response are crucial in handling zero-day threats to prevent potential damage.

Hours 25-32: Crisis Management Workshop

Challenge: Phishing Forensics

Your team must address a phishing threat with the Chief Information Security Officer unavailable. Thoroughness and swift decision-making are vital in assessing and rectifying this challenge.

Hours 33-40: Final Debrief

Challenge: Boardroom Discussion and Interviews

Prepare for an in-depth review with the CISO and leadership team as the program culminates. Present a concise report of your experiences, challenges countered, and the strategies employed.

Harness this 40-hour journey to fortify your cyber skills, network with professionals, and prepare for the challenges of the digital age.
