Cyber Pathway Syllabus

Forging Tomorrow's Cyber Defenders The threat landscape in cybersecurity evolves daily. Organizations face unprecedented challenges in protecting their digital assets from sophisticated ransomware attacks and nation-state threats. Yet, there's a critical shortage of qualified cybersecurity professionals to meet this growing demand—over 3.5 million unfilled cybersecurity positions are projected globally by 2025. This is where Work ED's Cyber Pathway steps in. Our mission is clear: We transform students into job-ready cybersecurity professionals through immersive, hands-on learning experiences. We don't just teach cybersecurity—we create cyber defenders. Our comprehensive pathway encompasses three progressive stages:

Cyber Discovery: Sparking interest and building foundational knowledge Advanced Cyber: Developing technical expertise through real-world scenarios Cyber Pre-apprenticeship: Bridging education and industry through guided work experience

What sets our program apart is our unwavering commitment to excellence and innovation. Our curriculum, developed in partnership with leading cybersecurity firms, combines cutting-edge technical training with practical applications. Students work with the same tools and technologies industry professionals use while receiving mentorship from experienced practitioners. Students progress through carefully structured units and lessons, from basic concepts to advanced cybersecurity skills. Each module builds upon the previous one, creating a logical pathway to mastery. More importantly, our focus on hands-on learning means students don't just understand cybersecurity—they experience it. The cyber threats of tomorrow require defenders today. Welcome to the program that will prepare you to join their ranks.

Our curriculum is thoughtfully structured into Units and Lessons, ensuring students receive a systematic and progressive education in cybersecurity. Each unit is carefully designed to cover key concepts and skills relevant to specific learning and career development stages. Whether it's Cyber Discovery for beginners, Advanced Cyber for those looking to deepen their expertise, or Cyber Pre-apprenticeship to bridge the gap between education and employment, our curriculum provides tailored content for each program. Furthermore, our program continues beyond serving students alone. Cyber educators nationwide have access to our curriculum, making it an invaluable resource, particularly for instructors teaching cybersecurity for the first time.

What sets our curriculum apart is the collaboration between a dedicated team of cyber instructors and industry experts. Our curriculum aligns with industry standards, making it a dependable tool for educators to deliver high-quality, up-to-date cybersecurity education. They work tirelessly to infuse the content with real-time examples and scenarios from the cybersecurity field. This approach ensures educators receive practical and up-to-date knowledge, making the learning experience tangible and relevant. We continue beyond the initial curriculum development. We believe in continuous improvement. Our curriculum remains a living entity by actively seeking feedback from industry engagements and educational peer reviews. It undergoes regular updates to reflect the ever-changing trends and the essential skill set required in the dynamic field of cybersecurity.

The Work ED Cyber Pathway is a holistic and adaptive approach to cybersecurity education. It encompasses various programs and supports students and educators. We're committed to meeting industry standards and pioneering innovative work-based learning experiences that set new cybersecurity education and career readiness standards.
