Miles Of India helps curious travelers explore India with AI-guided planning, an easy travel diary, and a friendly community where people share routes, tips, and stories.

This README is written for users — if you want developer/setup details, see TECHNICAL.

Features

Journey Planner

• What it is: an AI-assisted planner that proposes day-by-day itineraries based on your dates, start city, interests, and travel pace.
• How to use: open Journey Planner, set trip length and preferences, then tap Generate. The planner returns suggested stops, estimated times, and optional activities for each day.
• Customize: edit any day, add personal stops, reorder days, or remove suggestions. Save a version as a draft or publish a public trip.
• Export & share: copy the itinerary to your clipboard or use the share link to send to friends.

Example: 5-day Rajasthan loop — the planner suggests morning city tours, afternoon travel legs, and evening cultural activities with estimated durations.

Travel Diary

• What it is: a simple daily journal to capture photos, notes, and locations.
• Auto-summary: optionally generate a short AI summary of each entry to create quick trip highlights.
• Privacy controls: keep entries private, share only with followers, or publish publicly.
• Media: add multiple photos per entry; images are shown as a gallery when viewing a diary.

Best practice: add location tags to entries to improve discoverability and make it easier to compile trip maps.

Discovery Feed

• What it is: a feed of public trips, featured itineraries, and community posts.
• Filters: browse by region, duration, activity type (trekking, food, culture), and popularity.
• Interact: like, comment, save to your wishlist, or follow an author to see their future posts.

Tip: Use filters to narrow to weekend trips, family-friendly routes, or offbeat suggestions.

Rewards & Points

• Earn points for creating public content, publishing blogs, and engaging with the community (likes, comments).
• Tiers: points accumulate to unlock badges or feature access (e.g., early access to new planner features).
• Redemption: points may be redeemable for in-app rewards or promotional offers when available.

Transparency: points and tier rules are displayed in your My Rewards page.

Blogging & Publishing

• Drafts: write long-form content in My Blogs and save drafts before publishing.
• Media & formatting: add photos and simple formatting to enhance posts.
• Visibility: publish publicly to appear in the community feed or keep as private drafts.

Guidelines: follow community guidelines in CONTRIBUTIONS for acceptable content and moderation.

Community & Interaction

• Follow creators, comment on trips, and share tips.
• Report inappropriate content using the Report option on any post.

Moderation: community moderation tools and reporting help keep content friendly and useful.

Media & Uploads

• Supported: JPEG/PNG for photos; recommended max width 1920px for best display.
• Limits: individual upload size and total storage limits are enforced — compress large images before uploading for faster uploads.

If you have trouble uploading, try resizing or using the mobile app over Wi‑Fi.

Notifications

• Opt in to notifications for comments, follows, and points milestones.
• Manage notifications in your account settings.

Accessibility & Mobile Experience

• The UI is designed to be mobile-friendly; many flows (planner, diary) are optimized for phones and tablets.
• Accessibility: we aim for readable contrast, keyboard navigation, and screen-reader compatibility where practical.

Data & Privacy (user-facing)

• Your private diaries and drafts are only visible to you unless you choose to publish them.
• Public posts are visible to anyone using the app.

Troubleshooting (common issues)

• Can't sign in: check your email and try password reset.
• Missing images: refresh the page or re-upload the image; check your network connection.
• Planner suggestions not relevant: adjust your preferences and retry; AI suggestions are intended as a starting point.

How to use (quick guide)

1. Create an account or sign in

   • Use the Sign up or Log in pages to create your account. We use standard email authentication.

2. Explore and discover

   • Visit the Explore tab to browse public trips, featured blogs, and community highlights.
   • Use filters (region, duration, interests) to find trips that match your style.

3. Plan a trip

   • Open the Journey Planner and enter your travel dates, starting city, and preferences (pace, interests).
   • The AI-powered planner will suggest a day-by-day itinerary; edit items, add stops, and save the plan.

4. Log your trip in the Travel Diary

   • Create a new diary entry for a day or an entire trip.
   • Add photos, short notes, location tags, and the app can generate a concise summary for easy sharing.

5. Share and engage

   • Make a trip public to share with the community, leave comments on others' trips, and follow authors you like.
   • Earn points by publishing, commenting, and contributing useful content.

6. Blog and publish

   • Use the My Blogs section to draft and publish longer-form travel stories. Add photos and formatting to tell your story.

Tips & Best Practices

• Add clear location tags and photos to improve recommendations and discoverability.
• Save drafts of important posts before publishing.
• Use the planner to export or copy itineraries into your own documents.
• Keep sensitive personal details private when sharing publicly.
