First of all, thanks for making hands-down the best Markdown app ever!

Would you mind updating the app icon so it’s more consistent with other icons in the macOS Dock? Right now it feels a bit larger than standard icons. Also, having a light mode variant would be awesome!

Fixed in #545, shipping with the next release.

You measured it exactly right. The Dock icon tile was drawn 896px wide on the 1024px canvas, and Apple's grid draws an 824px tile, so ZenNotes was about 9% oversized: your 17.5px vs 23px headroom is precisely that difference at Dock scale.

It turned out to be two bugs hiding as one. The artwork itself was off the grid, and the installed app was also overriding its bundle icon at runtime with the raw oversized image, a leftover from a dev-mode workaround. Both are fixed: the icon is regenerated on the exact grid (including the soft shadow system icons bake in, so it sits flush next to them), and the runtime override now only runs in dev.

On the light mode variant: that needs the macOS 26 Icon Composer pipeline (a .icon file compiled into Assets.car), which the Electron packaging toolchain cannot produce yet. Keeping it on the list as a follow-up rather than letting it block the size fix.
