🔧 How to Use social-cli

social-cli runs in a command window but does not require any coding. It listens for messages from your connected Discord and Telegram accounts.

Step 1: Connect Your Accounts

You need to give social-cli permission to read messages.

  • Discord: You will be asked to enter a token or link the app using instructions in the command window. This setup allows social-cli to safely connect to your Discord channels.
  • Telegram: The program will request your phone number and send a code. Enter the code to link your Telegram chats.

Each connection uses secure methods to protect your privacy.

Step 2: Choose What to Monitor

social-cli lets you select which Discord servers or Telegram groups you want to watch. Use the commands shown in the window to add or remove groups.

You can track:

  • Specific Discord channels
  • Telegram groups or individual chats

Step 3: Monitor Messages

Once setup is complete, social-cli runs silently. It logs new messages and shows updates in the window.

You will see information like:

  • Message time
  • User who sent it
  • The message content

This lets you stay informed without constantly switching apps.

Here are some useful commands you can type in the social-cli window:

  • help - Lists all commands
  • list - Shows connected channels and groups
  • add - Adds a new channel or group to monitor
  • remove - Stops monitoring a channel or group
  • exit - Quits the program

These simple commands allow you to control social-cli easily.

🔒 Privacy and Security

social-cli respects your privacy. It only accesses the accounts and groups you connect directly. The tool does not store messages outside your device.
