…icing, and commit-reveal

Append event-shape assertions (XDR comparison form, per hashlock_test.rs) so the previously unasserted event trails are pinned:

  • yield_tests: StrategyApprovalEvent asserted for both approve and revoke (the payload approved flag distinguishes them), YieldDistributedEvent asserted with its amount tied to the token balances moved by the same distribute call, and the two failing deploy paths shown to emit nothing.
  • splice_test: ChannelSplicedInEvent / ChannelSplicedOutEvent asserted with new_amount cross-checked against get_channel after the splice, and rejected splices shown to emit no event.
  • commit_reveal_tests: CommitEvent / CommitRevealedEvent asserted with full payloads, a replayed reveal shown to emit nothing and leave UserLastClaim untouched, and two users shown to advance only their own UserNonce.

Verification: cargo fmt --all -- --check, cargo clippy --locked --all-targets -- -D warnings, and cargo test --locked --workspace all pass.

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • Tests
    • Added coverage for refund, yield, and channel-splicing events, including expected payloads and amounts.
    • Verified that rejected operations and replayed refund reveals emit no events, and that replayed reveals leave claim state unchanged.
    • Confirmed refund nonces advance independently for each user and splice amounts match channel capacity.
  • Documentation
    • Updated the changelog to summarize the expanded event and state checks.

📝 Walkthrough

The pull request adds test assertions for refund-vault and state-channel event payloads, rejected operations, replay behavior, and per-user nonce progression. It adds snapshots for the new tests and records the test-only changes in the changelog.

Changes: Refund-vault tests

Layer / File(s) Summary
Commit and reveal event assertions
contracts/refund-vault/src/commit_reveal_tests.rs, contracts/refund-vault/test_snapshots/commit_reveal_tests/*
Tests compare commit and reveal events with expected XDR payloads.
Replay behavior and user nonces
contracts/refund-vault/src/commit_reveal_tests.rs, contracts/refund-vault/test_snapshots/commit_reveal_tests/*
Tests check that a replayed reveal emits no event and leaves the last-claim value unchanged. They also check that refunds advance only the corresponding user’s nonce.
Yield deployment and event assertions
contracts/refund-vault/src/yield_tests.rs, contracts/refund-vault/test_snapshots/yield_tests/*, CHANGELOG.md
Tests check that rejected deployments emit no vault events. They also check approval and revocation event payloads, and verify the yield distribution recipient, amount, and nonce. The changelog records these test expectations.

State-channel tests

Layer / File(s) Summary
Successful splice event assertions
contracts/state-channel/src/splice_test.rs, contracts/state-channel/test_snapshots/splice_test/*
Tests compare successful splice event payloads with expected XDR and check that new_amount matches the stored channel capacity.
Rejected splice event assertions
contracts/state-channel/src/splice_test.rs, contracts/state-channel/test_snapshots/splice_test/*
Tests check event behavior for splice attempts rejected due to reserved escrow or invalid amounts.

Explanation

Issues #635 and #641 are covered by the splice and yield tests. They assert event payloads, post-splice channel amounts or moved token amounts, and no events on the specified failures. Issue #632 has full commit/reveal event assertions and checks that replay emits no event or changes UserLastClaim. Its nonce test uses two separate RefundVault instances. Separate storage instances cannot prove that two users have independent UserNonce records within the same vault, as #632 requires.

Resolution

Change the #632 nonce test to use two users against the same RefundVault instance and the same nonce context. Verify that each user's successful claim advances only that user's UserNonce, and that the second user's nonce remains valid after the first user's claim.

Check events after each rejected amount.

Each rejected client call is a separate top-level invocation. events().all() exposes only the most recent invocation, so the final assertion checks only the rejected try_splice_out. It cannot detect an event from either rejected try_splice_in.

Add a zero-event assertion after each rejection:

Since events().all() covers only the most recent invocation, verify zero events

Scope this test to per-vault nonce isolation.

refund, claim_batch, and process_batch all require the vault's admin and advance the nonce for that admin. Two distinct users cannot independently advance UserNonce in one vault through these entrypoints.

Because this test gives each user a separate vault, it does not establish per-user isolation within one vault. Rename the test and comments to describe the supported per-vault behavior:

CI's changelog gate requires a CHANGELOG.md update whenever contract source
files change; this records the appended event-shape assertions as a

The merge of main into tests/event-shape-assertions resolved the CHANGELOG
conflict without the event-trails entry, so the changelog gate saw contract
source changes (commit_reveal_tests, yield_tests, splice_test) with no
CHANGELOG.md diff versus the PR base and failed. Re-adds the tests-only
entry under [Unreleased].
