Getting Started

Prerequisites

Before you begin, ensure you have Node.js and npm installed on your system. We recommend using nvm for managing Node.js versions.

Local Development

Follow these steps to set up the project locally:

# Step 2: Navigate to the project directory
cd CodeCritic-AI

# Step 3: Install dependencies
npm install

# Step 4: Configure environment variables
cp .env.example .env

npm run dev

Environment Configuration

This project requires several environment variables to be set up for proper functionality. Create a .env file in the root directory using .env.example as a template:

VITE_SUPABASE_URL=your_supabase_url_here
VITE_SUPABASE_ANON_KEY=your_supabase_anon_key_here
VITE_GEMINI_API_KEY=your_gemini_api_key_here
  • VITE_SUPABASE_URL and VITE_SUPABASE_ANON_KEY: Get these from your Supabase project settings
  • VITE_GEMINI_API_KEY: Obtain from Google AI Studio

Development Options

Using Your Preferred IDE

You can work with any IDE of your choice. After cloning the repository, you can make changes and push them directly to the repository.
