[hlx6] Image Drag and Drop not working

I've got a helix 6 site on DA and looks like DnD is not working for me.

Getting

VM1709:1 Uncaught (in promise) SyntaxError: Failed to execute 'json' on 'Response': Unexpected end of JSON input
    at uploadImageFile (imageDrop.js:47:27)

I get a 201 from the POST to api.aem.live. but the UI just shows the placeholder.

Not sure if this is somehow related to #1098
