A Claude Code skill that checks a Spring Boot project before a pull request, large change, or release.
Made for Java teams that use Maven or Gradle. It works with your current build tools and fits into your normal Claude Code flow.
A clean build does not mean a change is ready.
Tests may be missing. A safety scan may fail. A secret may enter the Git diff. A format task may change files without warning.
This skill checks each part in a clear order and reports what still needs work.
mkdir -p ~/.claude/skills/springboot-verification && curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/YOUR_GITHUB_USERNAME/spring-boot-check-plus/main/skill/SKILL.md -o ~/.claude/skills/springboot-verification/SKILL.mdReplace YOUR_GITHUB_USERNAME with the repo owner before you run the command.
The skill is one file and has no added packages.
Open a Spring Boot project in Claude Code and ask:
Use the springboot-verification skill to check this project before my pull request.
Claude will use the Maven or Gradle wrapper when one exists. It checks the build, code rules, tests, coverage, known security flaws, format, and Git diff.
Expected output:
Verification Report
===================
Build: PASS
Code rules: SKIPPED
Tests: INCOMPLETE
Coverage: Not available
Security: SCAN ERROR
Format: PASS
Diff: 3 files changed
Overall: NOT READY
Checks skipped:
1. PMD was not set up in this project.
Issues to fix:
1. No tests were found.
2. The security scan could not download its data.
The skill stops when a required check fails. It names skipped tools instead of adding them. It uses READY only when all required checks pass.
- Rewrote the short Japanese steps as a clear English guide with concrete choices for each check.
- Made project wrappers, plugins, and coverage rules the first choice. Missing tools are not added. They are marked as
SKIPPED. - Stopped treating missing tests, scan errors, and folders outside Git as success. They are reported as
INCOMPLETE,SCAN ERROR, orSKIPPED. - Changed the normal format step from file-editing
spotless:applyto safespotless:check. File changes need a clear user request. - Added report paths, failed test names, staged diff checks, secret checks, database change checks, and runnable examples.
