I'm having fun with your firmware but I noticed in the calendar and in iOS app how the default font lacks of diacritics.

Thanks, and confirmed for the reader. The three screen fonts on the device are bitmap fonts that only cover plain ASCII, so an accented letter is dropped or replaced. I am rebuilding them with the accented Latin letters and checking what that costs in memory. I will post here when a firmware with the new fonts is out.

For the iPhone app: it uses the system fonts, which do have accents, so I would like to see where you saw it. Could you attach a screenshot of the app screen with the missing accents?

Good news: no firmware change was needed. The reader's fonts already have the accented Latin letters, plus Greek and Cyrillic. The phone app was stripping every non-ASCII letter before sending calendar titles, so "Café" left the phone as "Caf". The same stripped text was shown in the app's Up Next rows, which is why you saw it in both places.

TestFlight build 241 (app version 0.7.4) sends the letters through and shows the original titles in the app. Internal testers have it now; the public group gets it when Apple's review clears. Please confirm here on your calendar and I will close this.
