Hi,
I had a quick try at porting this addon to Blender 2.80+. Support for the following material properties was removed because I didn't have the time to find out how to properly retrieve them using the 2.80+ API: transparency, emissive color and ambient color amount.
So those will be ignored upon exporting a model.
