Vancity exposes no first-party public developer API. The subdomains developer.vancity.com and developers.vancity.com do not resolve, and no OpenAPI/Swagger definition or documented API reference is published. No downloadable specifications were harvested.
- First-party developer portal: None. No developer/API portal is published; there is no self-serve API onboarding or documented API reference.
- Canadian rails: Vancity reaches shared payment infrastructure through Central 1, its banking-technology and payments provider — including enhanced Interac e-Transfer real-time digital payments (Vancity and First West were among the first Central 1 partners to launch the enhanced service) — and through Payments Canada. These are consumer/operational capabilities, not a documented Vancity API.
- Consumer-Driven Banking (CDB): Canada's federal Consumer-Driven Banking / open-banking framework (Budget 2024 + Fall Economic Statement 2024, overseen by the FCAC) is legislated but not yet operational. Vancity publishes no CDB or FDX API endpoint; the framework is not live.
- Aggregator access: Consumer account data access today is aggregator-mediated. Vancity accounts are reachable through third-party aggregators such as Plaid and Flinks rather than a first-party Vancity API.
