⚙️ Installation & Run Locally

Follow these steps to set up the project on your local machine.

Prerequisites

Node.js installed

Google Gemini API Key

(Optional) ElevenLabs API Key

1. Clone the Repository

git clone https://github.com/YOUR_GITHUB_USERNAME/chat-pdf-app.git cd chat-pdf-app

2. Backend Setup

cd server npm install

Create a .env file in the server folder:

PORT=5000 GEMINI_API_KEY=your_gemini_api_key_here ELEVENLABS_API_KEY=your_elevenlabs_key_here

Start the Server:

node index.js

3. Frontend Setup

Open a new terminal:

cd client npm install

Create a .env file in the client folder:

VITE_API_URL=http://localhost:5000

Start the Client:

npm run dev

Visit http://localhost:5173 in your browser.
