Adds the prototype explorer and its static browser distribution, including ONNX inference with preclassification embeddings and insertion of new images into the fixed t-SNE map. The current UX increment groups controls into Explore, Predict and Settings, uses one model-scoped GBIF namespace setting, resolves names/photos directly in the browser, and shows attributed reference photos for predicted species. Optional resumable GBIF name snapshots can be embedded in the artifact.
Original class IDs/order, prediction semantics and existing projection coordinates are preserved. Legacy saved views migrate to the shared setting; generic IDs and synthetic cases avoid GBIF calls. Local Python launcher endpoints remain compatible, but names/photos no longer require them. The existing public production release is unchanged.
Validation:
See dev/prototype_space/portable-qualification.md for evidence and reproduction. Qualification targets Chromium/WASM; other browsers, WebGPU, complete offline image distribution and browser-side construction of global diagnostics remain roadmap work. The candidate includes a partial 100-taxon snapshot; the helper resumes missing lookups. Human layout review and PR review are pending.
The branch includes current local master 268d294 through a merge, with agent workflow guidance in a separate agent: commit.
