Rebrand pbwowext as a generic style enhancement extension #27

Description

@avandenberghe

Summary

pbwowext has evolved beyond its original pbWoW3-specific scope. It now provides generic style enhancement features (top-bar, custom logo, video background, fixed background, header links, donate block styling) that work across multiple styles including PBTech, Avathar, and others.

The extension should be rebranded to reflect this — both in name and in code structure.

Scope

  • Rename extension: paybas/pbwowext → avathar/styleext (or similar)
  • Rename vendor namespace: paybas\pbwowext → avathar\styleext
  • Rename DB table: pbwowext_config → new table name
  • Rename ACP module: update module titles, language keys (PBWOW_* → generic naming)
  • Rename cache key: pbwow_config → new key
  • Update composer.json: new name, description
  • Migration: add migration to rename DB table, preserve existing config
  • Language files: rename all PBWOW_* keys across 14 translations
  • CSS files: rename pbwowext.css references
  • Template events: keep top_bar_links_before/after event names (or deprecate + add new ones)
  • Body class: pbwow-ext → generic class name
  • Repository: new repo under avatharbe org

Considerations

  • Need a phpBB migration to rename the DB table so existing installs don't lose config
  • The paybas vendor directory will change to avathar — users will need to disable old, install new
  • Consider whether this should be a clean break (new extension) or an in-place rename with migration
  • The donate block CSS/images are site-specific (avathar.be) but the container feature is generic

Related

  • Recent Topics (avathar/recenttopics) now handles the ad block ACP config natively
  • pbwowext's modify_ads_code event listener and get_ads_index_code() have been removed
  • Donate CSS/images remain in pbwowext as style-specific presentation
