[CTX-0015] feat(api): pure provider-publication control record contract - #35
Conversation
|
Rebased onto origin/main f201911 (the branch had been cut from a stale local main). Resolved the lib.rs conflict by keeping both the CTX-0014 modules/re-exports and the new provider_publication module; just check passes on the rebased head. |

Review findings addressed in the latest commit: added CONTROL_ACTIVE_RECEIPTS to the crate-root re-exports; qualified the payload baseline note with the deliberate quote-escape correction; qualified the bounds scope (TLS wrapper limits out of scope); corrected the PR body's file attribution to provider_binding.rs (AI-0327 a2bb62a:272, current :294) - metadata_publication.rs was never the canonical encoder and its escapes are correct. The bitty-ai fix is tracked as AI-0335 / issue #530. |

- Around line 494-501: Update PayloadReader::string to decode characters from a
UTF-8 view instead of revalidating the remaining bytes on each iteration.
Validate the payload once in parse_projection before constructing PayloadReader,
and keep the reader’s byte position aligned to character boundaries so each
character is decoded without rescanning the rest of the payload.

Docstring coverage warning: declined. This repository has no docstring-coverage gate, the module's public API is documented, and the crate follows the existing API-layer style; adding blanket docs to satisfy a percentage would not improve the contract. |

Summary
Adds the pure
provider_publicationmodule tobitty-ipc-api(zero dependencies, std only):BPPC, version 1, kind, sender, sequence, session id) and typed bodies for kinds 1-13 with exact encode/decode.CONTROL_ACTIVE_RECEIPTS.Baseline finding
The AI-0327 canonical encoder's quote escape is wrong at
bitty-ai/crates/bitty-ai-endpoint/src/provider_binding.rsappend_json_string(line 272 ata2bb62a; line 294 on current main): it usesbr#"\"#, a single backslash byte, so quote-bearing identities produce invalid canonical JSON. This module emits the correct\".metadata_publication.rsis not the canonical encoder and its quote escapes are already correct. The bitty-ai fix is tracked as AI-0335 (issue #530) and targetsprovider_binding.rs, with a quote-bearing canonical vector.Verification
just fmt-check,just clippy,just test,just typecheck,just check,just check-all-features, MSRV 1.85, and rustdoc-D warnings(changed crate) pass; workspace gates green on the rebased head.Closes #34
