rhino device not detected ? have i done something incorrect?

hi i would really like to try and get this working i have spent quite a few hours just to get here lol i finnally masnaged all steps and have added product and guild name but all it says is it doesnt detect any ffb device the fedit picks up my device and so does the ffconst move my stick any ideas my freind got it to detect his stick same make but he cant actually test game as he doesnt have it

Could you please reply with the output of the program. If there are any errors they are displayed here. It also outputs the found devices when it starts. We can use this output to build the correct settings.json file.

• From the search bar type in cmd.exe and press enter.

so i end up here but how do i actually run the exe?what do i actualy type if i type cd edforcefeedback exe it just says system cannot find specified path i tried run but tht is not recognised. the exe is the application csfeedbk? sorry im not very savvi with I>T i had to ggogle about the command promting to get to the last folder

ok so i managed it but it just comes up with the box saying no suitable device no forcefeedback device found attached to the system. sample will now exit

Both the other applications detect it the tester moves the joystick and the file maker software that I don't really Understand but that lists the rhino and picks it up.

You are one folder too deep. EdForceFeedback.exe is in the parent folder.
It also looks like you only downloaded the source code. Download the released version instead (Right Column)

The device name and ProductGuid are given in the output. These are the values you will use in the EDForceFeedback\EDForceFeedback\bin\Release\settings.json file.

I am working on a better version that helps select the correct device but for now, the process is manual.

This is a new device that I would like to get working. If you do get it working, please provide me the DeviceName & ProductGuid so I can add a pre-built settings file.

If you are still having problems, please don't give up. We can get this going.

so i downloaded from this above and ran it but i still get this same message ive moved the .net 6 folder into the location c progme files 86 but still the same message.

I have updated the release version to 4.5. This uses a newer Microsoft .NET Framework that should already be installed on your computer. Please download the new release and try again. If you need more detailed steps I can provide them.

Hi thanks yes this seems to be working now this is the command promt

after some small testing the stick seems to jolt and stay picth up for few seconds entering and leaving the station and the landing gear up made it jolt picth up and then limp on the one axis

also could i ask i see you can add your own events which is fairly straight forward i think mostly i only probably want some vibrations more than stick jolts or i suppose i need to shorted the stick jolts like landing gear down is a slow long movement rather than a thud but i wanted to ask where is the vibrate setting in the utlity software as all i see is like sinewave for stick movement

In the setting.json file the events that the program responds to are listed with their force playback file. Each of these looks like this

When the "Event"  "Status.Gear" is "True" is detected,  play the force file "Gear.ffe" for 3000 milliseconds (3 seconds)

In the output of the program you can see the different events detected. You can customize additional forces to different events by adding more events to the settings.json file. This file format is "JSON". You can find many examples of the format and syntax on the web.

You can edit the force playback files using the ffedit.exe program. To use this program you layer some different effects over the top of each other and save the file. It will create a .ffe file. These you can save in the "Forces" folder and use them in your settings.json file.

You can also edit my force files to change how they work and re-save them over the top of the original files.

My force files are subtle movements because when I tested stronger ones they seemed to take away from the game instead of adding to it.

The vibration has to do with the frequency the wave plays. The amplitude defines the strength of the vibration.

I hope I provided enough tools for you to create the experience you are looking for. I am very happy that someone is creating a new force feedback joystick. I want you to enjoy it.
