- Pick a variant, choose a backup option, and install.
That’s it. JDownloader comes back wearing its new outfit.

Backup is optional, including when you are only switching between variants.
A smaller backup focused on the settings and visual files involved in the theme change. It also includes simple restore instructions.
A complete backup of the selected JDownloader installation. Safer, larger, and naturally slower.
For the brave, the impatient, or anyone who already has their own backup plan.
The wizard checks that a selected backup was created successfully before it changes the theme.
Backups may contain private JDownloader settings and account information. Store them somewhere sensible.
Most installations work normally without administrator rights.
If the review screen says administrator access is required, close the wizard, right-click Run-JDownloaderRosePine.cmd, and choose Run as administrator.
- If JDownloader is running, the wizard closes it and starts it again afterward.
- If it is already closed, you can choose whether to start it when installation finishes.
- If it cannot be closed automatically, the wizard asks you to close it manually and try again.
- If the theme installs but JDownloader does not start, you can retry the launch or open its folder.
Afterward, you get a short installation summary with the exact variant installed, the backup location when applicable, and JDownloader’s final state.
JDownloader updates may occasionally replace part of the theme.
Run the wizard again. It will fetch the latest resources and reinstall your chosen variant—or let you use the excuse to switch to another one.
