Describe the feature

I listen to podcasts on two different devices, so I need a way to sync data between them. As such this relates to sync #970, but I’m also talking about the syncing of my subscriptions and app preferences, as well as having a cloud-backup of my account in the case of lost devices.

To facilitate easy account management, I’d love to see support for the open web-identity standard (among other things) AT Protocol.

For me as a user, having atproto identity integrated into Boxlore would enable me to connect my podcasting with https://plyr.fm/ for social saving/sharing of favorite episodes, https://semble.so/ for assembly of podcast/episode collections, and https://skyreader.app/ to cross-check my podcast subs with my blog subs

This kind of cross-app interop enables a new kind of knowledge layer for podcasts that we’re only just beginning to explore.

Hi Thanks for the feedback.

This is in our roadmap and will be the next major feature which will be added.

However, the current priority is fixing some critical issues related to playback battery optimization, content refresh and making the core functionality stable.

But we are actively looking at solutions to implement cloud sync, we did explore podder which we decided not to go with.
Will review your suggestions before finalizing an approach.

An estimated timeline for cloud sync will be somewhere in November.
