do you need to use pyfasta or can you use pyfaidx ? As the readme indicates, I'm no longer working on pyfasta because pyfaidx is a better alternative. so if that satisfies your use-case, I'd rather leave pyfasta unchanged. |

Thanks for the pointer, I didn't even see the redirection you have there at the top until you pointed it out. I'll look at pyfaidx and see if they have a similar np problem. But I'll keep this open a little while until I know for sure. |

I'd like to use pyfasta without needing numpy to be available. This can be useful on servers where extra requirements are a pain to install or configure.
