Three untracked files written by the leverage sensor: .control/leverage-metrics.jsonl, leverage-ship-state.json, leverage-state.json.

Flagging rather than burying

These are generated runtime state, not configuration, and this repo has never tracked a leverage file — the tracked .control/* entries are arcs.yaml, policy.yaml and rcs-parameters.toml, all hand-authored config.

They embed absolute machine paths (/Users/broomva/broomva/core/life) and measurement timestamps from 2026-07-10 / 07-11, so they're machine-local and already ~45 days stale.

Committed because it was explicitly requested. Gitignoring is probably the more correct end state — reverting this commit is the undo, and I'd suggest deciding that before merge rather than after.

🤖 Generated with Claude Code

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • Reporting
    • Added leverage metrics for July 10–11, 2026, recording analyzed sessions and observed activity.
    • Added a seven-day shipping measurement snapshot with unavailable-access and missing-allowlist conditions clearly recorded.
    • Added a seven-day leverage-state snapshot showing metric values, activity counts, result statuses, and monitoring closure levels.
    • Reports fail closed when required shipping data is unavailable, with no exclusions or errors recorded.

Three files written by the leverage sensor and left untracked:
.control/leverage-metrics.jsonl, leverage-ship-state.json, leverage-state.json.

Caveat worth flagging rather than burying: these are GENERATED RUNTIME STATE,
not configuration. No leverage file has ever been tracked in this repo — the
tracked .control/* entries are arcs.yaml, policy.yaml and rcs-parameters.toml,
all hand-authored config. These three embed absolute machine paths
(/Users/broomva/broomva/core/life) and measurement timestamps from 2026-07-10
and 2026-07-11, so they are machine-local and already ~45 days stale.

Committed because they were explicitly requested. Gitignoring them is probably
the more correct end state; reverting this commit is the undo.

📝 Walkthrough

Walkthrough

Added July 2026 leverage metrics and seven-day state snapshots. The records include analyzed-session counters, per-metric statuses, closure levels, shipping measurements, GitHub availability, exclusions, and fail-closed metadata.

Changes

Leverage measurement snapshots

Layer / File(s) Summary
Record leverage and shipping state
.control/leverage-metrics.jsonl, .control/leverage-state.json, .control/leverage-ship-state.json
The control snapshots record July measurements, zero-valued activity counters, no_setpoint metric results, closure status, shadow-mode shipping data, unavailable GitHub access, empty results, and fail-closed metadata.

Merge Risk: 🟡 Moderate · up to 74d0e

This PR adds generated state files that are stale, embed an absolute developer-machine path, treat unavailable GitHub data as zero, and contain a blank JSONL record; these can mislead consumers, expose local environment details, or break strict parsing, so the files should be normalized, ignored, or validated before merge.

Remove the extra blank JSONL line.

Line 3 is an empty record. A strict line-by-line JSON parser can reject the file because an empty line is not a JSON value. Keep only the two records and the final newline, or verify that every reader skips empty lines.

Keep generated leverage snapshots out of tracked runtime state. Both files contain July 11, 2026 measurements and are approximately 44 days old as of August 25. Remove them from the repository and ignore the generated paths, or enforce a freshness check before consumers read them as current state.

Normalize workspace in all tracked runtime artifacts.

Both files persist /Users/broomva/broomva/core/life. This leaks a machine-local path and couples the state to one checkout.

  • .control/leverage-metrics.jsonl#L1-L2: remove or normalize workspace in both records.
  • .control/leverage-state.json#L3-L3: remove or normalize workspace in the state snapshot.

Preserve unavailable GitHub data.

When gh_ok is false, set pr_count_counted, product_ship, and meta_ship to null or add an explicit unavailable status. Zero values imply observed zero activity.

Closing without merging. This PR commits generated runtime state (.control/leverage-metrics.jsonl, leverage-ship-state.json, leverage-state.json) that the leverage sensor rewrites on every session:

  • The PR's own body recommends gitignoring instead: "Gitignoring is probably the more correct end state … decide that before merge."
  • The snapshot is machine-local (it embeds /Users/broomva/broomva/core/life) and dates from 2026-07-10/11, so it is 11 weeks stale.
  • main tracks only hand-authored .control config: arcs.yaml, policy.yaml, rcs-parameters.toml and audit/.gitkeep. Tracking a file the sensor rewrites each session reintroduces the state-file git churn flagged as G-13 in the 2026-07-06 bstack setup assessment.
  • CI is red on 5 jobs.

The branch stays. If you still want these tracked, reopen and I'll rebase it. — PR-drain orphan lane, 2026-09-27
