What

Applies the five approved COPY/SEQUENCE moves from the LabOS UX audit (reports/jove-labs/review/labos-ux-evaluation.md). The product's content already lives in the right pains (reproducibility + tacit-loss on turnover), but every top surface led with mechanism/onboarding language. This reframes the framing, not the build.

Hard constraints honored: copy + minor sequence only. No change to the JoVE aesthetic, palette, type, spacing, or any component's visual design. Zero em-dashes in any new copy. Calm voice preserved.

The five moves

  1. Hero (IA-1): headline leads with the reproducibility wound, blue span carrying the turn ("The published method never works the first time. <span>Your lab's real version does.</span>"); subhead names turnover plainly. Tour CTA labeled by its payoff (FL-1). Same 4-element stack, blue accent, asymmetric graph-right layout, type treatment.
  2. Flow cards (IA-2/IA-3): all four titles re-titled pain-first, feature demoted to the tagline (Flow 4 -> "When the expert leaves, the know-how stays"); one framing line above the grid names the through-line pain. Card layout / icons / "Flow N" eyebrows / Sparkle lines unchanged.
  3. De-jargon (EU-1): retired "system of record", "operating system", "moat", "flywheel" from every user-facing surface (landing, flows, tour, nav dropdown, meta title) -> plain scientific-operational language. Kept only in the investor deck (separate file, untouched).
  4. Name the pain where it's solved (FL-3/FL-2/IA-4/EU-4): calm helper line on the Brain; Flow-1 success banner + H1 reframed to the user outcome; "Why it's defensible" -> "Why it keeps working" with the three pillar bodies verbatim; "bus-factor-1" glossed once per surface (term kept).
  5. Deploy (post-merge): brings this reframe + the existing Compliance-mode toggle live to production.

Surfaces touched (9 files, copy only)

landing/Landing.tsx, lib/flows.tsx, flows/SetupFlow.tsx, flows/BrainFlow.tsx, flows/MatrixFlow.tsx, flows/JourneyFlow.tsx, tour/TourProvider.tsx, shell/TopNav.tsx, app/layout.tsx.

Verification

  • npm run typecheck — pass (clean).
  • npm run build — pass (compiled, 9/9 static pages, no errors).
  • Rendered every surface on the local production build: all reframed copy present, zero jargon on landing + all flow pages, apostrophes encode correctly, Compliance role="switch" toggle present in nav.

…loss)

Apply the five approved COPY/SEQUENCE moves from the LabOS UX audit
(reports/jove-labs/review/labos-ux-evaluation.md). The product's content
already lives in the right pains; every top surface led with
mechanism/onboarding language. This reframes the framing, not the build.
No visual/aesthetic redesign: palette, type, spacing, components, and the
JoVE brand are untouched. Zero em-dashes in new copy.

- Hero (IA-1): headline now leads with the reproducibility wound, blue span
carrying the turn ("The published method never works the first time. Your
lab's real version does."); subhead names turnover plainly. Tour CTA labeled
by its payoff (FL-1). Same 4-element stack, accent, asymmetric layout.
- Flow cards (IA-2/IA-3): all four titles re-titled pain-first, feature demoted
to the tagline (Flow 4 -> "When the expert leaves, the know-how stays"); a
framing line above the grid names the through-line pain. Layout/icons/eyebrows
  /Sparkle lines unchanged.
- De-jargon (EU-1): retired "system of record", "operating system", "moat",
"flywheel" from every user-facing surface (landing, flows, tour, nav, meta
title) -> plain scientific-operational language. Kept only in the investor
  deck (untouched, separate file).
- Name the pain where it's solved (FL-3/FL-2/IA-4): calm helper line on the
Brain ("the published version usually won't reproduce"); Flow-1 success banner
and H1 reframed to the user outcome; "Why it's defensible" -> "Why it keeps
working" with the three pillar bodies verbatim. "bus-factor-1" glossed once
  per surface (EU-4), term kept.

npm run build + npm run typecheck pass locally.
