Legalaid Ltd was founded by Chris Dias, solicitor and founding director of Lawyery, to bring grassroots AI tools to the legal profession. The thesis is simple: AI's potential in law is best realised by practitioners building for practitioners, not by corporate platforms built for enterprise procurement.
The focus so far has been immigration law, reflecting the founder's expertise, but the company is open to consultation and collaboration with other firms and other practice areas.

Chris Dias qualified as a solicitor in 2001 and has worked in immigration law across Horsfield Menzies, Dias Solicitors, ALT Legal, Gunnercooke, Halebury, and now Lawyery Ltd (Holborn). He teaches the Level 2 Advanced Immigration Law course for Free Movement.
