Why

The commits job fails on every PR before it reads a single commit:

Error: failed to parse config
cause unknown field `packages`, expected one of … `monorepo`, `scopes`

cocogitto-action v4.2.0 pins cog 7.0.0, and cog 7 no longer accepts a [packages] table. cog.toml has had an empty [packages] since Aug 18.

Change

Delete the empty [packages] table. It configured nothing, and cog 6 treats it as optional, so local cog bump behaves the same.

Validation

With the cog 7.0.0 binary the action installs:

  • Before: cog check --ignore-merge-commits origin/master..HEAD gives failed to parse config, exit 1.
  • After: No errored commits, exit 0.

The same commit is also in #23 so that PR can go green; it will no-op on whichever merges second.

Generated by Claude Code

The `commits` job installs cog through cocogitto-action v4.2.0, which pins
cog 7.0.0. cog 7 renamed the monorepo table and rejects `packages` as an
unknown field, so `cog check` fails on config parsing before it reads a
single commit, on every PR regardless of its contents. The table was
empty, so removing it changes nothing for cog 6 either.
