This major upgrade is incompatible with the Maven API used by this module. maven-core:3.9.16 is built against and manages slf4j-api:1.7.36; slf4j-simple:2.0.19 is a 2.x service provider and is not a valid binding for the 1.7 API. CI can still pass because the tests do not assert logging initialization, while logging silently falls back to NOP. Please keep slf4j-simple on the 1.7.x line (1.7.36 is the latest/final 1.7 release) until the Maven runtime moves to SLF4J 2.
