Grouping and Rotation
Make rotation group collects the selected keys into a rigid cluster that moves and rotates as one piece — for angling a numpad or an ortho split. Hovering near a group reveals a dashed outline with five handles:
| Handle | Action |
|---|---|
| Move, top‑left | Drag to move the group — ⌥ + drag copies it |
| Rotate, top‑centre | Drag to rotate, snapped to 5° |
| Ungroup, top‑right | Click to dissolve the group |
| Pivot, accent‑coloured | Drag to move the centre of rotation |
| Mirror, bottom‑centre | Click to flip the keys left‑right |
A pill above the rotate handle reads out the current angle, positive counterclockwise. Mirroring only moves keys — a stepped shape keeps its notch on the side it was drawn with.
The outline tracks the keys inside it. Keys in a group are edited as usual, except that they snap to the group's own rotated grid. The pivot can be dragged anywhere, including outside the box, and always snaps to the main grid; moving it never moves the group, it only changes what the next rotation does. Rotation belongs to the group, not to a key, so ungrouping straightens to 0° first.
Groups never nest. Grouping a selection spanning several groups doesn't merge them — each already‑grouped key gets a fresh group of its own, and only ungrouped keys are merged into one new group.
