⚡ Bolt: [Deep Clone Serde Avoidance]#48
Conversation
Refactor the OpenAPI parser to use `T::deserialize(&value)` instead of `serde_yaml::from_value(value.clone())` and `serde_json::from_value(value.clone())`. This avoids deep cloning the intermediate structural tree of each component. Co-authored-by: cloudesize67-cmd <237356855+cloudesize67-cmd@users.noreply.github.com>

💡 What:
Refactored the OpenAPI parser component loading to use
T::deserialize(&value)rather thanserde_json::from_value(value.clone())andserde_yaml::from_value(value.clone()).🎯 Why:
When deserializing from an intermediate representation (
serde_json::Valueorserde_yaml::Value), bothfrom_valuefunctions consume the value, forcing us toclone()it because we only have a reference to an element inside the parent tree. This deeply copies the entire JSON/YAML structure in memory (maps, arrays, strings) for every single component. Because&ValueimplementsDeserializer, we can pass it directly toT::deserialize(), effectively borrowing the data and avoiding the expensive deep clone.📊 Impact:
Eliminates O(N) memory allocations per component parsing when building the intermediate OpenApiContext, which will be measurable for large specification files with many deeply nested schemas or parameters.
🔬 Measurement:
Run the existing parser and integration test suites (
make checkandmake test-generator) to verify correctness, since this optimization is strictly structural and functionally equivalent. We can measure execution times on large YAML/JSON OpenAPI specifications before and after to verify the speed up and reduced memory usage.PR created automatically by Jules for task 1662637468598160158 started by @cloudesize67-cmd
