The 73-9 game is a basketball team builder challenge built around one number. A wheel spins to a random team-season anywhere from 1990 to today — the 1996 Bulls, the 2004 Pistons, the 2023 Nuggets — and you sign one player from that roster. You have five spins, five signings, and a single $100 million budget. Every player is priced by what their contract would be worth against the 2026 salary cap, so a prime superstar can swallow half your money in a single move. Fill all five positions, then a simulation runs an 82-game season and tells you the brutal truth: how often would your five actually beat the 73-9 Warriors?

🎮 How to Play the 73-9 Game

  1. Spin the wheel → a random NBA team-season (1990–today)
  2. Sign one player from that roster — priced at their 2026-cap value from that season's real stats (PPG · RPG · APG · FG%)
  3. Watch the $100M budget — overspend early and you'll be scraping minimum-salary free agents by the fifth slot
  4. Fill all five positions: PG · SG · SF · PF · C (re-spin for $10M if you don't like the team)
  5. Simulate the season → see your record, your win % vs the 73-9 Warriors, and the best squad you could have signed
  6. Submit your score to the global leaderboard and challenge your friends

❓ FAQ

What does 73-9 mean? 73-9 is the 2015-16 Golden State Warriors' regular-season record: 73 wins, 9 losses — the most wins in a single NBA season ever, breaking the 1995-96 Chicago Bulls' 72-10. This game challenges you to build a starting five that could beat that team.

Is 73-9 the greatest team ever? It's the greatest regular season ever — but the 2015-16 Warriors lost the Finals, so the debate never ends. The 73-9 game lets you settle it with a scoreboard: pull legends from thirty years of basketball and throw them at Curry, Thompson, Green, Iguodala and Barnes.

Why can't I just sign five superstars? The $100M budget won't let you. A single MVP-level season can cost $80–100M+, so every roster is a trade-off between star power and value signings.

Is it free? Yes — free browser game, no download, no account. Available in 8 languages (EN / 中文 / 日本語 / 한국어 / ES / FR / DE / PT).
