Setting Up TRegression
The TRegression project relies on Microbat project to collect execution traces of Java program. When you are importing the TRegression project, you need to import the Microbat project as well. The latest version of Microbat can be found at https://github.com/llmhyy/microbat. Note that all the projects are Eclipse plugin projects. The required projects are as follows:
- microbat (microbat)
- microbat_instrumentator (microbat)
- microbat_junit_test (microbat)
- mutation (microbat)
- sav.commons (microbat)
- tregression (tregression)
After downloading the relevant projects, we can now import it into Eclipse. For Eclipse, we are using the Eclipse IDE for Eclipse Committers. This version contains the required tools for running both microbat and tregression properly.
To set up the project properly, we will go in order of the dependencies. We will first import in microbat as a Git Repository. This can be done under File > Import... > Git > Projects from Git > Existing local repository > microbat. We can then import all the projects under microbat as they are all relevant to our project. Similarly, we can import all the projects from Tregression in a similar manner.
Before using Tregression, we need to set up Microbat appropriately. The tutorial to set up Microbat can be found here.
Now that we have all the projects imported, we should be able to see them in Package Explorer which should be the default. However, if it is not showing, we can find it under Window > Show View > Package Explorer. We can now run Tregression by right clicking tregression and Run As > Eclipse Application.
Now that we have Tregression running as an Eclipse Application, we can set it up to run a repository by going to Window > Preferences > Tregression(Defects4J). Here, we just need to define the path to all the Defects4J Repository, the project name of the repository (Chart, Lang, etc) and the bug ID. The testcase and benchmark isn't needed at this point. Once these details have been input, we can run Tregression by pressing Run for Separate Version in the top bar.
