Why

The public guide (and its byte-identical twin on userguide.pages.dev) printed a personal Gmail address in plain text on Getting Started, the FAQ, CONTRIBUTING, SECURITY and the issue-template chooser. It also said "everything runs from our home server". Both came up in a personal footprint review.

Change

  • Getting Started, FAQ, CONTRIBUTING, issue template: "message Corey directly" instead of the address. Family and friends already know how to reach him.
  • SECURITY.md: point at GitHub's private vulnerability reporting instead of an email.
  • Getting Started: "everything is self-hosted".
  • static/_headers: X-Robots-Tag: noindex, nofollow for the *.pages.dev hostname only, so search engines index guide.tyhurstfarmhouse.com and not the unbranded twin.

Test plan

  • Hugo build succeeds (Cloudflare Pages preview)
  • curl -sI https://userguide.pages.dev/ | grep -i x-robots-tag shows noindex
  • curl -sI https://guide.tyhurstfarmhouse.com/ | grep -i x-robots-tag shows nothing
  • Enable "Private vulnerability reporting" in the repo's Security settings so the SECURITY.md pointer works

….dev twin

The Getting Started, FAQ, contributing, security and issue-template text
all printed a personal Gmail address. Family and friends already know how
to reach Corey, so the pages now say so instead of publishing the address.
'Everything runs from our home server' becomes 'everything is self-hosted'.
A Cloudflare Pages _headers file marks the unbranded userguide.pages.dev
hostname noindex so only guide.tyhurstfarmhouse.com is indexed.
