Keep the 20-process edge coordinator proof on macOS and Linux. On Windows, run eight independent workers with the same enqueue, claim, commit, and final-cache assertions, and allow the heavy platform test pool two minutes. This avoids orphaned child handles and EBUSY cleanup after a Windows test timeout.
