Lumina Permissive License

Lumina Permissive License is a modified MIT license which requires commercial users of the software to star the project's GitHub repository.

Permissions Conditions Limitations
✓ Commercial use ⓘ License and copyright notice ✕ Liability
✓ Distribution ⓘ Commerical use requires starring of GitHub repo ✕ Warranty
✓ Modification
✓ Private use

How To Use

  1. Copy the LICENSE file to your GitHub repository.
  2. Replace [Year] [Your Name or Organization] with the current year and your name or organization name. Example: 2026 Charles Nicholson.
  3. Replace [Insert GitHub URL Here] with the GitHub repository of your project. Example: https://github.com/crnicholson/StratoSoar-MK3.
  4. You are done!

Note

The Lumina Permissive License is not an Open Source license since it requires you to star a GitHub repo. Rather, it is in the realm of Source-Available or "Fair-code" licenses. True Open Source licenses cannot restrict use based on a specific field of endeavor or require a specific social action.
