LinkedIn Image Paste - Installation Instructions

Step 1: Download the Extension

1. Click the green Code button on this GitHub page
2. Select Download ZIP
3. Extract the ZIP file to a folder on your computer

Step 2: Enable Developer Mode in Chrome

1. Open Chrome and navigate to chrome://extensions/
2. Toggle Developer mode on (top-right corner)
3. You should now see additional buttons: "Load unpacked", "Pack extension", etc.

Step 3: Load the Extension

1. Click Load unpacked
2. Navigate to and select the folder where you extracted the extension files
3. The extension should now appear in your extensions list

Step 4: Verify Installation

1. Look for the LinkedIn Image Paste icon in your Chrome toolbar
2. Visit LinkedIn.com
3. Try copying an image (right-click → Copy image) and pasting it in a LinkedIn post with Cmd+V (Mac) or Ctrl+V (Windows)

Usage

1. Copy an image from anywhere (web page, file explorer, screenshot tool, etc.)
2. Go to LinkedIn and start creating a post or comment
3. Press Cmd+V (Mac) or Ctrl+V (Windows) in the text area
4. Your image appears instantly - no upload dialogs!

Supported Image Sources

• Screenshots from clipboard
• Images copied from web pages
• Images copied from file explorers
• Images from design tools (Figma, Photoshop, etc.)

Troubleshooting

Extension not working?

• Make sure you're on a LinkedIn page (*.linkedin.com)
• Check that the extension is enabled in chrome://extensions/
• Try refreshing the LinkedIn page

Image not pasting?

• Ensure you have an image in your clipboard (not a file path)
• Try copying the image again
• Some image formats may not be supported

Need to update?

1. Download the latest version from GitHub
2. Go to chrome://extensions/
3. Click the refresh icon on the LinkedIn Image Paste extension
4. Or remove and reinstall using the steps above

Permissions Explained

• Active Tab: Detects when you're on LinkedIn
• Host Permission (*.linkedin.com): Enables the paste functionality on LinkedIn pages
