Web UI / HAT rollup of enhancement ideas

Just a combo of thoughts I had when using USBODE:

WebUI

1. Option to download full log: usbode-logs.txt
2. FTP config options, set password/user or leave anonymous
3. Config option to change the text size on the HAT display (where possible, some sizes may require marquee)
4. Disc image list display options: Icon / Details / List
   3a. Whilst in Icon/Image list view, automatically pickup and display a PNG/JPG image for a disc image based on it's file name: image1.bin = image1.png etc
   3b. Details view can show the number of tracks, image size, creation date
5. Mobile viewport: make the CTAs buttons mobile aware, at present they are very small
6. Introduce option to delete or rename disc image (including CUE and/or updates as required)

HAT

(I know this is due for a refactor, so some things may already be on the agenda)

A. Button combination to reset the currently set config to default
B. Display image for currently inserted disc (See 3a above)

Happy to split these if that's preferable

1. I can do this provided the log file is small enough to buffer. Otherwise you can download using FTP
2. I thought about this but where would we display it? A separate stats screen? Should this be where the image is shown?
3. Want to help design it? :)
4. Perhaps we could add this to the web server, or also perhaps use the FTP server?

What about some API endpoints too? Would anyone be interested in writing client software that would use it?

We need api endpoints, there are other people who want a list, setimage and getimage endpoints

Also, is it possible to just put a button on the webserver to download the file from the FTP? I don't know if modern browsers still support FTP.

We already have an issue open for #3, I think we would display the image on the display and we could also display it on the website (currently loaded image) where we have the usbode logo

• /api/shutdown with option query param delay=delay in ms
• /api/reboot with option query param delay=delay in ms
• /api/imagename

All returning json
