[Quentin Geissmann/Jamie Alison] and I are organizing the first iteration of an "Aarhus Comprehensive Computational Entomology Summer School" (ACCESS-2024). It promises to be an exciting, first-of-its-kind event for early career researchers, especially graduate students, to learn to apply cameras, computer vision and AI to solve problems in entomology and insect ecology.
During the course, we will offer candidates a series of guest lectures and workshops from experts in the field. This will really enrich their experience, and even allow us catch up and develop collaborations around the edges.
On that note, we would like to invite you to lead a guest lecture or workshop at the summer school in Aarhus, Denmark, between September 30th to October 4th, 2024. In particular, we think your expertise would be perfect to cover [XXXXXX].
Some details about the summer school (we are currently drafting the website (password: AarhusIsGreat19273):
• It will be a residential summer school at the beautiful Mols Labrotoriet, Mols Bjerge National Park, near Aarhus.
• It will run from September 30th to October 4th, 2024.
• There should be around 15-20 students, with budget to feed and accommodate students and lecturers on site (only cost to students will be travel).
• We have budget to pay for guest lecturers travel as well – at least a large part of it, if we plan early...
• You are welcome to attend for a short window around your lecture or workshop, or to join for the entire residency.
