I see parts of the Windows code in the files, but Windows doesn't run .sh files so I suggest making a powershell script :)

Thanks @jkowall — Windows support is a real gap and I'll be straight about where it stands.

You're right that the .sh installer won't run natively on Windows. The harder part is underneath it: much of Dex's core is currently macOS-native — calendar via EventKit/AppleScript, background automation via launchd, Granola detection, clipboard, path handling. So a PowerShell installer would get you to "installed," but calendar, automation, and meeting sync wouldn't actually work yet — a worse experience than being upfront.

Honest status: this is on the back burner for now. It's not a light lift — proper Windows support means a platform-abstraction layer (calendar → Outlook/Graph, launchd → Task Scheduler, plus installer, clipboard, and path handling), so it's a roadmap item rather than a quick patch. I'm labeling it help wanted and keeping it open so it's tracked and others can +1.

If you want to run Dex on Windows today, WSL2 is the pragmatic path — the bash installer runs under WSL and most things work, with the macOS-native calendar/Granola/automation pieces being the exceptions. And if anyone wants to drive the port (starting with a calendar abstraction), a PR would be very welcome.
