V-MENU 7.1 - Stability & Experience Update
This update focuses on improving platform stability, cart experience, responsive behavior, and translation reliability across the Default template.
🌍 TranslateAPI Stability Improvements
We identified an issue in the Default template where the Google Translate widget could stop working after navigating between pages.
What was happening?
The hidden google_translate_element container was being mounted inside a React component.
During page navigation, React could unmount that DOM node while the Google Translate script itself remained loaded.
As a result:
- language buttons still appeared active
- but translations no longer executed properly
- the widget lost connection to its internal select element
- customers could experience inconsistent language switching
✅ What changed?
Persistent Google Translate Container
google_translate_element is now created as a persistent hidden element directly inside document.body.
This means:
- the container no longer disappears during navigation
- Google Translate always has a stable mount point
- the widget remains available across page changes
Improved Translation Reliability
Google Translate now attaches to a persistent container instead of relying on the lifecycle of a React component.
This improves:
- stability
- consistency
- language switching reliability
Fallback Protection
We also added a fallback mechanism.
If the Google widget is temporarily unavailable:
- the selected language is stored in a cookie
- the page reloads automatically
- the translation state is restored
This prevents “dead” language buttons and broken translation flows.
🛒 Cart Flow Improvements
Several improvements were made to the cart experience:
- smoother mobile flow
- more stable cart behavior during navigation

Improved responsive behavior across multiple parts of the Default template:

🎟 Discount System Compatibility
The discount system is now fully compatible with V-MENU 12.4.
Improvements include:
- more stable discount application behavior
- improved compatibility logic

- better handling of active discount states
