This project demonstrates a GSM-based digital security lock system designed for improved home and commercial security. It utilizes Arduino along with the Proteus 8 simulator to emulate a secure locking mechanism that operates through password authentication and sends SMS alerts in case of unauthorized access attempts.
The system includes a 4x4 matrix keypad for input, LED indicators for status feedback, a servo motor to simulate door locking/unlocking, and a GSM module to send alert messages.
- If the correct password is entered, the door unlocks.
- After three incorrect password attempts, an SMS alert is sent to the registered phone number, and a red LED blinks to indicate a security breach.
This project was presented at ICIECE-2021 and is titled:

- Password-based digital locking
- GSM alert system after multiple failed attempts
- Real-time feedback with LED and LCD display
- Fully simulated using Proteus 8
- User inputs password via the keypad.
- If the password is correct:
- Green LED lights up.
- Servo motor rotates to simulate door unlocking.
- If the password is incorrect:
- Red LED blinks.
- After three failed attempts, GSM module sends an SMS alert to the owner.
- Proteus 8 Professional
- Arduino IDE
- Basic knowledge of embedded C and microcontrollers
- Open the
.pdsprjfile using Proteus 8. - Use Arduino IDE to compile the provided
.inofile and generate the.hexfile. - Load the
.hexfile into the Arduino component within Proteus. - Run the simulation and interact with the virtual keypad.
