A browser answers Herdr's colour queries across a relay, and before 0.9.4 a reply that arrived late or in pieces leaked into the focused pane as text or left the client waiting with typing frozen (herdrdev/herdr#4025, #5052). 0.9.4 also starts a new tab or split at its own size instead of borrowing another pane's (#4419).

  • Minimum Herdr raised to 0.9.4 in the manifest, MIN_HERDR_VERSION, READMEs and the outdated-Herdr message.
  • Input-field fixtures recaptured with scripts/capture-herdr-screens.mjs on 0.9.4: what Herdr draws itself is unchanged and every expectation still holds. Codex screens stay on their 0.9.3 capture (the local Codex showed a hooks review dialog).
  • Key passthrough was compared byte for byte between 0.9.3 and 0.9.4 for 29 key-bar sequences, legacy and Kitty mode: identical.

Recaptured with scripts/capture-herdr-screens.mjs on Herdr 0.9.4. What Herdr
draws itself (sidebar, tab bar, borders, cursor placement, synchronized
output) is unchanged, and every input-field expectation still holds. Codex
screens stay on their 0.9.3 capture: the local Codex opened a hooks review
dialog instead of its prompt, which says nothing about Herdr.
A browser answers Herdr's colour queries across a relay, and before 0.9.4 a
reply that arrived late or in pieces leaked into the focused pane as text or
left the client waiting with typing frozen. 0.9.4 also starts a new tab or
split at its own size instead of borrowing another pane's, which a phone and a
laptop on the same workstation keep running into. The agent labels Herdr
reports are unchanged from 0.9.3.
