Changed default Cobalt instance for YouTube compatibility#12

This changes readme of current repo |
|
out of curiosity, why |
It is the most safe option, https://cobalt.directory/ . |
Yes, it was changed because I provided instructions to install the extension manually, as well as documenting what the fix actually did.
cobalt.tools disabled YT downloads, they say it's an error and they don't know what's going on when in reality it's because Google paid them to disable the feature, it's why only community instances still have that feature |
|
can't merge because it'll change readme of this repo to have useless stuff |
I'm sorry? What useless stuff is included in there? It's just instructions on how to install it manually as well as credits. It's not great to not wish to fix your now broken code just because the README has changed. I'm happy to the delete the 'This fork was made' paragraph if you wish |
|
this part: and you also removed link to firefox addons |
|
My apologies, I'll edit that now and add back the Firefox link on the condition that the new update is pushed to it |
|
Hello, is this going to get merged soon? All the requested changes were made |
The YouTube function of the main cobalt.tools instance was taken offline a while ago, devs are refusing to fix it.
This fork switches the default one to cobalt.meowing.de which does allow for YouTube downloading.
I know that you can change the default instance in the extension itself, however you can't do so in Firefox, only in Chrome/Chromium
