AI Sub Editor v6.0
Major Workflow, Automation & Image Processing Update
This release introduces major improvements to news publishing, image handling, website support, article cleaning, user notifications, and overall application reliability.
The complete workflow—from collecting a news article to processing and inserting multiple images into the correct draft—is now faster, smoother, and significantly more automated.
What’s New
Automatic Image Processing and Insertion
Copied or downloaded images are now automatically:
- Detected
- Processed
- Resized
- Saved locally
- Uploaded
- Inserted into the latest active news draft
This removes the need to manually upload and attach images after submitting a news article.
When no active draft is available, the image can still be processed and uploaded independently.
Multiple Images per News Article
Users can now add multiple images to a single news article.
After a news draft is created, each newly copied or downloaded image is processed and inserted into the currently active draft. This makes it easier to prepare reports, features, interviews, and other articles that require several images.
Conditional Center Crop
A new “Crop long side of the image” option has been added to the Custom Image Size dialog.
When enabled:
- Landscape and square images can fill the selected output dimensions.
- The image remains centred.
- Excess content from the longer side is cropped.
- The rule is applied only when at least one side of the original image is larger than the selected output size.
- Vertical images continue to use the standard image-processing rule.
- Images smaller than both selected dimensions are not enlarged using the crop rule.
When the option is disabled, the existing image-processing behaviour remains unchanged.
Improved Image Processing
Image processing has been enhanced with:
- Custom image-width selection
- Multiple image-quality options
- Automatic 16:9 output sizing
- Better handling of portrait, landscape, square, and small images
- Centred image placement
- Blurred-background support where necessary
- Improved preservation of the main subject
- Automatic removal of common photo-caption bars
- Better detection of light, coloured, and dark caption strips
- Support for additional modern and professional image formats
- Improved duplicate-image prevention
- Better handling of images copied from browsers, desktop applications, and local files
Small images are kept centred without unnecessary stretching, while vertical images continue to use a balanced presentation suitable for standard news-image dimensions.
Custom Image Size Preferences
Users can select a preferred output width from the Custom Image Size dialog.
The application automatically calculates the corresponding height using a 16:9 ratio.
The following preferences are remembered:
- Selected image width
- Selected image quality
- Long-side crop preference
- Voice notification preference
Automatic Downloaded-Image Detection
Images downloaded through the browser are now detected automatically and processed without requiring manual copying.
The improved monitoring also helps prevent:
- Processing incomplete downloads
- Processing temporary files
- Uploading the same image repeatedly
- Processing unsupported files
- Conflicts between clipboard images and downloaded images
- Errors caused by files that are still being saved
Voice Notifications
Voice notifications have been added and improved for important actions, including:
- Successful news uploads
- Failed news uploads
- Successful image uploads
- Failed image uploads
- Subscription status notifications
- Voice mute and unmute confirmation
- Image-quality selection confirmation
Voice notifications can be enabled or muted directly from the application.
Muting voice also stops any notification currently playing.
Expanded News Website Support
Support has been added or improved for more Bangla, English, regional, and international news websites.
Newly supported international sources include:
- CNN
- PBS
- National Geographic
Compatibility has also been improved for existing supported websites whose article layouts have recently changed.
Improved English News Support
Article extraction and cleaning have been improved for several major English-language news and international media websites.
The application can now handle a broader range of:
- Breaking news reports
- Long-form articles
- Interviews
- Feature stories
- Analysis pieces
- Video transcripts
- International reports

The improved workflow now supports:
- Copying a supported news article URL
- Processing and submitting the article
- Opening an image search using the cleaned headline
- Copying or downloading one or more related images
- Processing and uploading each image
- Inserting the images into the correct draft
