Audio Doctor

Audio Doctor is a lightweight Windows application for repairing problematic audio files. It helps rebuild damaged file structures, correct common playback issues, reduce unwanted audio defects, preserve the original format, and optionally create MP3 output.

Features

  • Repair one or multiple audio files at once
  • Preserve the original format by default
  • Optional MP3 conversion
  • Selectable MP3 output quality
  • Reduce common hiss, clipping, offset, and peak problems
  • Recover usable audio from supported damaged files where possible
  • Save results automatically beside the source files
  • Prevent accidental overwriting by creating numbered copies
  • Display success, warning, and error messages inside the app
  • Play an action sound after processing
  • Compact, always-on-top Windows interface
  • No account, sign-in, or subscription required

Supported Formats

Audio Doctor supports many common audio formats, including:

AAC, AC3, AIFF, ALAC, AMR, APE, CAF, DTS, FLAC, M4A,
MKA, MP2, MP3, MP4, MPC, OGG, OPUS, WAV, WebM, WMA, WV

Support may vary depending on the condition and structure of the selected file.

How to Use

  1. Open Audio Doctor.
  2. Enable Convert to MP3 when MP3 output is required.
  3. Select the preferred MP3 quality.
  4. Click Open Defective Audio.
  5. Choose one or multiple audio files.
  6. Wait for the completion message inside the app.
  7. Open the Audio Doctor Output folder beside the source files.

MP3 Quality Options

Available MP3 output qualities:

129 kbps
192 kbps
256 kbps
320 kbps

The default quality is 129 kbps.

Output Folder

Repaired files are saved automatically inside:

Audio Doctor Output

The folder is created in the same location as each source file.

If an output file with the same name already exists, Audio Doctor creates a numbered copy instead of replacing it.

Important Notes

  • Keep a backup of important source files before processing.
  • Completely missing audio data cannot always be restored.
  • Severely damaged, encrypted, incomplete, or unsupported files may not be recoverable.
  • Review repaired output before deleting the original source.
  • Repair or conversion may change metadata, bitrate, file size, or perceived audio quality.
  • Results may vary depending on the condition of the source file.

Privacy

Audio Doctor processes selected files locally on the computer.

The app does not require an account and does not upload selected audio files to an online service.

License

Audio Doctor is free to use under the terms of the included End-User License Agreement.

See:

Audio_Doctor_EULA.txt

Third-party components included with the application remain subject to their respective licenses and notices.
