Summary
When a link is opened in peek mode (Shift + Click), pressing Esc closes the peek, which works well. However, there's no keyboard shortcut to do the opposite: promote the peek into a regular tab. Right now the only way is to click the button in the peek view.
Current behavior
- Shift + Click a link to open it in a peek.
- Press
Esc → the peek closes ✅
- To keep the page, you have to move the mouse and click the "open as tab" button. There's no keyboard equivalent ❌
Expected behavior
A keyboard shortcut that converts the current peek into a full tab, mirroring how Esc dismisses it. This keeps the peek workflow fully keyboard-driven: peek, then either dismiss or keep.
Suggested shortcut
Some options (open to whatever fits existing keybindings best):
Cmd/Ctrl + Enter
Shift + Enter
Cmd/Ctrl + O
Ideally it would also be shown in the button's tooltip so it's discoverable.
Why
Peek is great for quickly checking a link without breaking focus. Having a close shortcut but no "keep" shortcut makes the flow feel incomplete and forces a switch from keyboard to mouse at the exact moment you've decided the link is worth keeping.``
I'm happy to open a PR for this.
