Harden callback identities and preserve split newlines - #70
Conversation
Preserve the newline at each splitMessage boundary so joined visible text round-trips exactly. Namespace snooze callbacks as snz:d:<key> and snz:h:<digest> to avoid direct/hashed collisions, and replace CRC32 fingerprints with truncated SHA-256 in snooze and watch index encoders while staying under Telegram's 64-byte callback_data limit.

only 16-character fingerprints. Preserve validation and reject malformed or

Approved — thanks for jumping on this so fast, @MrBeldum! 🙌 This is a clean, faithful follow-up to #69.
- Newline preservation — dropping the leading-
\nstrip is correct; nice touch tighteningTestSplitMessageHTMLPreto assert the joined visible text matches the original exactly rather than justContains. snz:namespacing —snz:d:/snz:h:removes the ambiguity cleanly, and unknown/malformed callbacks still fall through to "stale snooze".- Truncated SHA-256 fingerprints — 64-bit digest replaces CRC32 at both encoders and the
hr:path, with length/hex validation inparseWatchIndexData; payloads stay well under Telegram's 64-byte limit.
test and GitGuardian are green.
One non-blocking note for awareness: since this changes the snz: wire format, any alert buttons already on screen at the moment of the auto-update will answer "stale snooze" once (the old snz:<key> no longer matches). That's an unavoidable one-time transition and only affects in-flight alerts — new alerts after restart are fine.
Ready to merge. Thanks again for the solid contribution — and don't forget that ⭐ if you're enjoying the project! 🚀

@MrBeldum one more small thing before we merge — CodeRabbit flagged the same upgrade-transition point I noted, and it's worth handling since the old wire format shipped in #64 and is already live on
Also a quick lint nit from golangci-lint: Everything else looks great and my approval stands — just these compat paths + the lint tidy and it's good to merge. Thanks again! 🙏 |
Keep emitting only snz:d:/snz:h: and 16-char SHA-256 watch fingerprints, but resolve eliau2005#64-era snz:<key>, snz:h<CRC32>, and 8-char watch fingerprints so on-screen buttons survive the upgrade. Also tidy QF1001 in watch parse.

Follow-up hardening from the CodeRabbit review of #64, tracked in #69.
