This is a pretty much mechanical conversion to the new JPL7 API (the release notes are a great and succinct reference as to the differences). Note that this does break compatibility with SWI-Prolog releases prior to 7, but the JPL7 bindings are generally included in SWI-Prolog packages (e.g., in MacPorts).
sed(which I used for much of the conversion) likes to append newlines to the last line of files; I left these in but can easily remove them if preferable. Please let me know if there any additional changes or revisions necessary. Thanks!
