🎯 What: Removed the unreachable fallback return and redundant type check in RenderGrid._crossIntrinsicFromChildren in lib/src/widgets/grid.dart.

💡 Why: _gridDelegate is always a SliverGridDelegateWithFixedCrossAxisCount, making the is SliverGridDelegateWithFixedCrossAxisCount check redundant and its fallback return statement dead code. Removing it improves codebase maintainability and readability.

✅ Verification: Verified with flutter test (all 155 tests pass) and flutter analyze / dart format.

✨ Result: Dead code removed cleanly without changing runtime behavior.

Closing: the premise does not hold. RenderGrid._gridDelegate is typed SliverGridDelegate, Grid(gridDelegate: ...) accepts any delegate (see CHANGELOG 4.0.0), and Grid.extent constructs a SliverGridDelegateWithMaxCrossAxisExtent — so the is check and the maxChild + _crossPaddingSum fallback are live code, as the method's doc comment ("other delegates adapt their cell count to any extent") already states. With this change, Grid.extent(...) and any custom delegate throw _TypeError: type 'SliverGridDelegateWithMaxCrossAxisExtent' is not a subtype of type 'SliverGridDelegateWithFixedCrossAxisCount' in type cast on every intrinsic query, including IntrinsicWidth(child: Grid.extent(...)) during layout and the unbounded-cross fallback (reproduced locally; base passes). The 155-test suite stayed green only because no existing test exercises intrinsics with a non-fixed-count delegate; regression tests for that gap will land on master separately.
