Adds community install scripts for two apps from the TrueNAS catalog:

Also added both apps to the README table.

I will be looking into this soon
In general we recommend making individual pull requests for each app added but its fine this time.

These are the changes I have made to vault warden but nothing is set in stone yet, happy to hear your opinion on the changes and if anything needs to be reverted or further modified

  • removed timezone, webui, and postgres version in favor of defaults
  • the default for domain question was changed to the local ip:port
    • this allows for the app to be installed by users not using the app externally
  • changed certificate from 'null' to '1' this allows the app to be used internally with the https://ipaddress:port
  • changed new user registration to a question which will allow it to be disabled directly from the hexos ui
  • changed admin token from a text question to a password question which will allow users to click a button to generate a password
  • set the correct owners for data and postgres_data datasets

I think you did a great job
unfortunately hexos isn't ready yet for vault warden to be released.
we are planning to add more text restrictions to questions so that users cannot cause app installation failures.

for example for the admin token question we will add the feature to have minimum length
and for the domain question we may add a feature to reject anything that is not in the correct domain format

once we have those features implemented we will be thrilled to post this curation
Making sure to credit you.

i will be checking uptime kuma tomorrow

Hey,

The changes are great, I've just noticed 2 things and have a remark:

  • admin token states "Leaving this blank disables the admin panel." but when leaving it empty, it defaults to "$RANDOM_STRING(64)", creating a password and therefor not disabling the admin panel, but this is an easy fix
  • the default url is "default": "https://$SERVER_LAN_IP:30032" but this does not resolve to the IP address in this case, meaning the URL in truenas and Vaultwarden is shown as "https://$SERVER_LAN_IP:30032" instead of, for exampe "https://192.168.1.50:30032".

The "problem" with certificate being 1 means it´s a self signed certificate, which needs to be manually changed once expired (unless TrueNAS is somehow taking care of the renewal?)

Yes I agree, the install script is currently not as bulletproof as it should be to be deployed as a currated app, but still a great start for advanced users.

Good catch

allowing macros in questions is something that is on the todo list as well.
the default password length was a mistake on my part but i will see if we can update how curations work for password generation

So far we haven't had any issues reported with the only other app using self signed certificates (actual budget)
but I will look into how truenas handles renewal.

I completely agree its great for advanced users.
It shouldn't take an incredibly long time for HexOS to be in a position where we can release this curation.
