This PR adds data seeds for demos and the QA environment. It's goals is to make the environment reproducible with seeded data to a know state.
On key note is that a DBL key is required to fetch the bible book text for the seeded bibles. Otherwise, the seed enqueues the job to fetch the data but it will fail.
Summary
Stacked feature branch for the QA demo seed work — see docs/features/qa-demo-seed/plan.md. Companion PR for the db:reset:* script (#363) stacks on top of this branch.
Captures the agreed design for deterministic QA/dev environment resets
and demo seeding: a confirm-gated db:reset script (drop public/drizzle/
pgboss, re-migrate, re-seed), a declarative demo spec engine shared by
qa/dev/local, committed better-auth password hashes instead of env-var
plaintext, and a corrected grant model where project-level roles are
project-scoped (the existing seed grants PM at org scope).
Includes the first CONTEXT.md glossary (Seed User, Reference Data,
Reconcile, Reset, Role Grant scoping) and ADR-0001 recording the
committed-hash + clean-slate trade-offs.
Revise the QA/dev demo seed plan to reflect the shipped Milestones feature (migration 0029). Projects now group books into named milestones (`project_units` rows with `type`/`status`/`connectivityProfile`); book membership is project-wide unique via soft-deletable `project_unit_bible_books` links. The demo world is seeded directly in the milestone-grouped shape: Highland's 3 legacy projects consolidate to 2 (Koli Kachi NT with Mark+John milestones, Chichewa O
Clarify that all feature tickets must branch from and target task/seeder-updates-demo-seeds, ensuring blocking work lands before dependent tickets begin.
Adds src/db/seeds/demo/ — a declarative DemoSpec interpreted by a shared
seedDemoSpec engine (orgs → languages/bibles → users → projects →
milestones → book links → chapter assignments → grants), with idempotent
reconcile semantics and direct passwordHash support for committed QA
hashes. dev/local env-configs supply a devSpec() factory; setup.ts runs
the engine as a new step when config.demoSpec exists, and standalone
db:seed:demo:dev / db:seed:demo:local scripts drive it directly.
Fixes the grant model the old dev seed got wrong: PM/Translator/Observer
grants are always project-scoped (orgId + projectId), every spec user
gets an Org Member anchor, and stale org-scoped project-role rows are
removed on reconcile.

Prints a better-auth password hash for a plaintext argument, so the
shared QA demo password can be committed as a hash string and seeded
accounts work immediately after db:setup / db:reset — no env-var
passwords, no post-seed db:set-password run. Mirrors set-password.ts;
output round-trips through verifyPassword (covered by a subprocess
test).

Adds a "Seeded User Accounts" section to db-provisioning-and-setup.md —
per-environment tables (local, dev, qa) listing username, email, password
source, and role grants — and sweeps the stale rows that contradicted the
demo-spec model: QA_PM_EMAIL/QA_PM_PASSWORD env vars and workflow examples,
the `SeedUser`/qapm descriptions, and the verification output that showed
the old org-scoped Project Manager row.
Also lands the superadmin display-username change in qa-spec.ts
('superadmin' → 'Chad White') with a clarifying note in the plan.

qa+FluentQA-*@fluent.local accounts could never log in: better-auth's
findUserByEmail compares against email.toLowerCase(), so the mixed-case
rows the seeder stored were unreachable. cwhite* accounts happened to be
lowercase already, masking the bug.
- qa-spec emails are now committed lowercase
- reconcileSeedUser resolves existing rows case-insensitively and
converges stored auth_user/users emails to lowercase on reconcile —
already-seeded DBs heal on the next seed run, no wipe needed
- spec test guards the invariant (all emails lowercase)
Also unifies the seed sequence: new aggregate db:seed npm script
(org → roles → rbac → languages → books → bibles → bible texts →
pericope sets → demo spec); fapi.sh db:seed delegates to it so
fluent.sh can share one definition.
Verified live: reseed reconciled all 17 accounts in place, stored
emails now lowercase, and sign-in reaches "Invalid password" instead
of "User not found".

The pull request replaces per-user seed configuration with declarative demo specifications for local, dev, and QA environments. It adds a shared reconciliation engine for demo content, updates Bible identity and text-ingest seeding, and changes setup commands and documentation.
Changes: Demo seed system
Layer / File(s)
Summary
Demo specifications and rules src/db/seeds/demo/types.ts, src/db/seeds/demo/{spread,grants,dev-spec,qa-spec}*
Adds declarative demo data shapes, chapter assignment generation, grant planning, and local/dev and QA demo specifications with associated tests.
Bible identity and resources src/db/seeds/{reference-bibles,bible-identity,bibles,bible-texts*}*, src/db/seeds/demo/bibles*, src/db/seeds/audio-demo*
Adds shared Bible identity resolution, updates Bible seeding to use provider identities, and records text-ingest completion markers. Demo Bible reconciliation fills missing identity and audio fields while preserving existing audio settings.
Adds ordered seed stages for organizations, users and grants, projects, milestones, book links, and chapter assignments. Existing assignments are updated when specified fields differ, with history recorded for status and assignee changes.
Text-ingest planning and queueing src/db/seeds/demo/ingest*
Plans DBL text-ingest jobs for missing books, grouped by milestone. Missing credentials and queue failures are handled with warnings.
Replaces seed-user config with demo specs, connects setup and commands to the shared seed flow, adds a password-hash CLI, and updates setup guidance and related tests.
The seed changes have bounded dev/QA risks involving legacy accounts, concurrent runs, and existing same-name projects. Address these cases or explicitly accept them before reseeding shared databases; no broad production blocker is established.

The demo engine writes project_unit_bible_books directly, bypassing
milestones.service — so seeded books never enqueued dbl-ingest-text jobs
and QA source panels stayed empty. Reproduce the trigger, not the data:
- DemoBible.externalId + real API.Bible catalogue ids for BSB/WEB
(verified against demo.api.bible; public ids, not credentials). Bible
reconcile writes the spec value when provided, keeps the row's when not.
- planIngestJobs — pure planner (buildGrantPlan pattern): one batched
{bibleId, bookCodes[], projectUnitId} job per milestone whose books lack
the bible_books.text_ingested_at marker (NULL also covers partially-
ingested books, so crashed workers get re-planned).
- seedIngestJobs post-stage in seedDemoSpec — converges the queue
(needed when seeding before first worker boot), sends with
singletonKey+singletonSeconds dedupe, degrades to warnings on missing
DBL_API_KEY / externalId / queue — never fails the seed.
- Worker's onConflictDoNothing assignments preserve seeded statuses.
Verified live on a throwaway provisioned DB: 4 jobs land with correct
payloads, re-run dedupes and logs honestly, gates skip cleanly.

The TTS gate and playback resolution read bible_provider_resources, so
spec bibles need their provider identities seeded, not just bibles rows:
- DemoBible gains ttsLicenseStatus/licenseNotice (text-identity row the
TTS gate checks) and audioExternalId (the selected recording row,
wired to bibles.audio_resource_id)
- Engine upserts both identities before the bible insert, reconciling
license fields and audioResourceId when the spec declares them
- QA spec: BSB/WEB 'allowed' + public-domain notices; WEB selects the
real DBL audio bible 105a06b6146d11e7-01
Bare provider ids only — the dbl-… form is a rendered bibleKey, not a
stored externalId (seen live: a keyed-upstream 403 -> 502 when the two
got conflated).

Main's dynamic workflow stages (#378) replaced chapterStatusEnum with per-project project_workflow_stages rows and varchar statuses. Demo projects were created via direct projects inserts — bypassing the repository path that writes stage rows — leaving seeded projects with no stages to validate chapter statuses against.
- types.ts: DemoChapterStatus now derives from DEFAULT_WORKFLOW names
- engine.ts: ensureWorkflowStages() converges the default stage set for new and existing demo projects (onConflictDoNothing preserves customizations)

The QA spec contains 18 users, not 17: 5 Fluent QA users, 2 SuperAdmins, 7 Highland users, 3 Rivertown users, and 1 New Horizons user. The plan's ### Users (18 rows) count is correct. The PR objective's 17-user count is inaccurate.
207-207: 🗄️ Data Integrity & Integration
The plan already requires all demo seed writes to reconcile idempotently and requires clean reruns without duplicates. The engine inserts status history for new assignments and only inserts another status-history row when the existing assignment's status changes. Unchanged reruns do not add status-history rows, so no additional requirement is needed for this comment.
⚠️Unverified finding
Verification ran but could not confirm this finding. It is shown for review, not as a verified issue.
Project reconcile keys on the display name, so a renamed spec project creates a duplicate.
Line 392 looks up an existing project by (name, organization) only. The spec key does not persist, so a change to a spec project name makes the engine insert a second project. The old project stays in place, together with its grants and assignments. Milestones at line 439 use the same name-based lookup. This matters mainly for future spec edits. Consider storing metadata.seed = project.key, as audio-demo.ts does, and looking up by that key.

Idempotency fix discovered running the seeders against the synced QA catalogue: (provider, external_id) is unique per bible — the catalogue already owns spec identities under suffixed abbreviations (IRVGuj, BSB-bba9f4), so abbreviation-keyed reconcile either crashed on idx_bibles_provider_external_id or silently rebound to the wrong upstream row.
- seedIrvGujarati/seedBereanStandardBible: holder-first lookup — adopt the row owning (dbl, externalId); claim it only on an abbreviation row whose externalId is still NULL; a foreign-owned abbreviation is a loud error
- seedSpecBibles (engine): same adopt/claim split; inserts fall back to the sync's '-{ext6}' suffix convention when the abbreviation is taken
- bible-texts + bible-texts-bsb + audio-demo: resolve the same canonical row so fixture text and the demo project follow the identity owner
- ingest.ts: plan jobs off ctx.bibles' adopted ids (abbreviation lookup fetched the wrong externalId on QA)
- db:seed aggregate: demo:local before audio-demo (PM user must exist first)

engine.ts grew to 713 code lines, over the FA-L11 500-line max. Each
reconcile stage now lives in the module named for its resource
(orgs, bibles, users, projects, milestones, assignments); the shared
key->id state is DemoCtx in context.ts, and the actor-resolution

seedDemoSpec keeps its signature so index.ts and setup.ts are
untouched.

Two reconcile bugs flagged in review on #368:
- demo/bibles.ts: the final abbreviation lookup overwrote ctx.bibles
entries already resolved by (provider, externalId) — a spec bible
adopted under a suffixed row (BSB-bba9f4) got remapped to a bare-BSB
row from a different upstream, corrupting sourceBibleId, book links,
assignments and ingest jobs downstream. Only unresolved keys are
looked up now.
- seeds/bibles.ts: every holder/adopted branch rewrote audioResourceId
(and hasAudio) whenever it differed, clobbering operator-selected
recordings on each rerun. Audio fields now fill only when unset —
the curated-selection case in bible-provider-resources.db.test.ts
passes under test:db.
audio-demo.db.test.ts expected IRV ttsLicenseStatus 'unknown' — stale
from main, where IRV had no provider-resource row. The seed now
deliberately writes 'allowed' with the real license notice.

On QA, seedBibles() runs before the demo spec. When a bare 'BSB' (or
'IRV') row already holds a different upstream identity — e.g. a
catalogue-synced row — onConflictDoNothing skipped the insert and the
abbreviation lookup hit the foreign row, throwing "reconcile it
manually" and killing the pipeline before the demo seed could create
BSB-bba9f4 itself.
Both branches now check the bare abbreviation first and fall back to
the demo seed's collision-suffix convention (BSB-bba9f4, IRV-a3644a),
so the two seeds converge on the same row. The throw remains for a
true double collision — a suffixed row holding yet another identity.

plan.md L214: still valid, and stale in both places. The plan says step 10 and step 5, but setup.ts runs the demo spec at [9/9].
plan.md L148 (test123 in a doc): a nit.
plan.md L158 (api_user grants on reset): belongs to #363, which the author has already acknowledged.
Spec notes, not blockers:#362's literal db:hash-password <password> argv form was deliberately replaced with stdin, following the plan and CodeRabbit. These go beyond the issues and are worth a line in the PR body: migration 0041 (project_units.metadata seed marker), the default workflow stages, and the new aggregate db:seed, which always runs db:seed:demo:local.
Addresses the agent-k-w review batch on the demo seed:
- dev-spec now declares the IRV bible with its full upstream identity, so
projects' sourceBible resolves through (provider, externalId) instead of a
bare abbreviation that can point at a foreign or empty row; license fields
mirror seeds/bibles.ts so the provider-resource upsert keeps 'allowed'.
- DevCredentials accepts optional superadmin/orgManager accounts; local.ts
restores sa@fluent.local and om@fluent.local (dropped when seedUsers moved
to devSpec — a regression vs main's five-user local default).
- reconcileSeedUser inserts a credential account when the existing user has
none (SSO-only accounts on QA), fixes the stale "roles & password" log,
and orders its adoption lookups deterministically (FA-R7).
- Suffix-collision naming is shared via reference-bibles.ts, which also
carries the IRV/BSB identities and honours the 50-char abbreviation cap —
keeping seeds, demo spec and catalogue sync on one convention (FA-R1).
- isStaleProjectRoleGrant reuses isProjectRole from lib/roles instead of a
copied role-name set; DemoProjectRole derives from ProjectRole (FA-R1).
- Skip/degradation logs use console.warn (FA-R8); adoption lookups on
non-unique (name, org) / (projectId, name) gain orderBy (FA-R7).

Follow-up at 4880b72, covering the 139834e..4880b72 delta. Typecheck and eslint src/db are clean, and the 105 src/db tests pass.
Earlier threads, status at head:
✅ Fixed, can be resolved:
local SA/OM restored (local.ts), with the same roles as main
IRV sourceBible now resolved by identity
reconcileSeedUser now inserts a missing credential row, and the log is fixed
isProjectRole reused (grants.ts)
console.warn used for skips (ingest.ts)
orderBy added to the name-fallback adoption lookups
⚠️ Partial:
The bible-resolution flow is still written out three times. Only the suffix string is shared, and the shared helper doesn't match the sync (see inline).
FA-R7 lookups are still missing an orderBy in a few places (see inline).
❌ Still open:
fapi.ps1:326,450 and scripts/smoke-repeated-words.ts:34,261,268 still call the removed db:seed:dev-users.
None of the invariants these fixes protect has a test in npm test (FA-R11): identity adoption, suffix collision, seed-marker reconcile, keeping a curated recording, and now the credential insert. suffixedAbbreviation is pure, so it's easy to test.
CodeRabbit threads:
plan.md L116, L207 and L214: still valid (plan.md wasn't touched).
bibles.ts:321 (BSB collision): addressed in 139834e.
L158 (api_user grants): deferred to #363, as the author said.
New in this commit (inline): the IRV declaration in devSpec now overwrites the curated recording and licence state on every local/dev setup. That undoes e4ca381.
Nits:
dev-spec.ts:59-107 builds four near-identical user literals; a devUser(cred, roles) helper would replace them.
'SuperAdmin' and 'Org Manager' are written as literals; ROLES.* exists in lib/roles.ts (FA-R1).
Addresses the second agent-k-w review batch:
- demo/bibles.ts: the provider-resource write is now insert-only (renamed
to ensureResource) so a reseed no longer resets an operator's license
status or renames a resource, and spec audio fills audioResourceId only
when unset — the same curated-selection rule seeds/bibles.ts uses. The
audio resource gets "${name} audio" as its display name to match.
- orderBy added to the new credential-account lookup and to the
metadata->>'seed' marker lookups in projects/milestones — FA-R7 now
holds on every .limit(1) reconcile query in the changed files.
- reference-bibles.ts doc no longer claims suffixedAbbreviation IS the
sync's convention: the sync additionally dedupes case-insensitively per
batch and counters repeat collisions, which seeds don't need.
- docs/db-provisioning-and-setup.md: local users table now lists all five
accounts (superadmin + orgmanager added) and notes dev intentionally
has no SA/OM.
FA-R11 coverage: suffixedAbbreviation unit test, dev-users.db.test.ts for
the credential insert/rotate branches, and dev-spec.db.test.ts asserting a
curated recording + blocked license + renamed resource survive a full
seedDemoSpec rerun.

Follow-up at be3b1f5, covering the 4880b72..be3b1f5 delta. Most of the commit's claims hold:
Provider resources are now insert-only, so license status and display name survive a reseed.
audioResourceId is filled only when it is empty, as in seeds/bibles.ts.
orderBy is added to the credential and seed-marker lookups.
The suffixedAbbreviation doc is fixed and now has a test.
The local users table lists all five accounts.
I've resolved the threads these changes fix.
New (inline): a reseed still resets hasAudio (demo/bibles.ts:150).
Still open:
FA-R11: the tests for the new invariants are in dev-spec.db.test.ts and dev-users.db.test.ts. vitest.config.ts:26 excludes *.db.test.ts, so neither runs in npm test. The only new test that does run is reference-bibles.test.ts, and it covers the suffix helper, not the reseed behaviour.
FA-R3/FA-R12:fapi.ps1:326 and scripts/smoke-repeated-words.ts:34,261,268 still call the removed db:seed:dev-users.
Duplication: the bible-resolution flow is still written out three times (open thread on seeds/bibles.ts). ensureResource also makes a third copy of the insert-then-select pattern.
CodeRabbit plan.md threads, all re-checked and still valid:
L116: says BSB/WEB externalId stays NULL, but qa-spec.ts sets it.
L148: documents the plaintext password test123.
L207: clearing an assignee writes no history row (assignments.ts:114).
L214: refers to "step 5", but setup.ts runs this at step 9 of 9. The setup.ts header also still lists 6 steps.
…ator hasAudio
Extract resolveBibleByIdentity() so seeds/bibles.ts (IRV, BSB) and the demo
engine run one holder -> bare abbreviation -> suffixed abbreviation flow
instead of three copies. The demo reseed now fills hasAudio only while the
audio slot is empty, matching seeds/bibles.ts, so an operator's hasAudio=false
survives a reseed (covered in dev-spec.db.test.ts).

Follow-up at 74b0022, covering the be3b1f5..74b0022 delta. Typecheck and eslint src/db are clean, and the 107 src/db tests pass.
Author's fix claims, checked against the code:
✅ resolveBibleByIdentity() (seeds/bible-identity.ts) is now the one resolution flow for IRV, BSB and demo/bibles.ts. The suffix template exists only in suffixedAbbreviation. The old demo path inserted at the suffixed slot without checking it; that gap is fixed too.
✅ The demo reseed sets hasAudio only while audioResourceId is NULL. dev-spec.db.test.ts checks this.
✅ The plan.md changes match the code: L116 BSB/WEB ids, L148 $THROWAWAY_PASSWORD, L158 api_user grants (the code for this is in #363), L207 history rules, L214 [9/9]. All threads are resolved; nothing else needs resolving.
New (inline):
The suffix path doesn't de-collide the unique bibles.name.
The new resolver has no tests.
Still open from earlier rounds:
FA-R3/FA-R12:fapi.ps1:326 and scripts/smoke-repeated-words.ts:34,261,268 still call the removed db:seed:dev-users.
FA-R11: the reseed invariants are tested only in *.db.test.ts, which vitest.config.ts:26 excludes from npm test.
Nit:dev-users.ts credential lookup: add authAccount.id as a tie-break after createdAt.
Seeded demo data is disposable, so a renamed milestone reseeding as a fresh
row is acceptable. Milestones reconcile by (projectId, name) as the plan
specifies, and the PR no longer carries a schema migration.
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
resolveBibleByIdentity now returns a name alongside the insert abbreviation,
using dbl-bible-sync's '${name} (${abbreviation})' form when bibles.name is
taken, and its lookups are injectable so every branch is covered in npm test
(bible-identity.test.ts). The demo reseed's operator-state rules move into a
pure demoBiblePatch with its own unit tests. dev-users credential lookups break
createdAt ties on id.

…d:dev-users
fapi.ps1 db:seed now runs npm run db:seed like fapi.sh. The repeated-words
smoke script's setup hints and comments reference the full seed and
env-configs/local.ts instead of the retired dev-users seed and SEED_* vars.
Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com>
Bible names can collide (inline): fixed in 6c77465. Names are now de-collided, matching dbl-bible-sync.
Resolver tests (inline): fixed in 6c77465 with bible-identity.test.ts, which runs in npm test.
FA-R11: The demo reseed's operator-state rules (fill hasAudio/audioResourceId only while the audio slot is empty, claim externalId only onto a NULL one) now live in a pure demoBiblePatch function. demo/bibles.test.ts covers it in npm test. The resolver branch table is in npm test too. dev-spec.db.test.ts stays as the end-to-end check.
FA-R3/FA-R12: fixed in 14d2995. fapi.ps1 db:seed now runs npm run db:seed, the same as fapi.sh, and its help text is updated. scripts/smoke-repeated-words.ts now points to npm run db:seed and env-configs/local.ts instead of db:seed:dev-users and the SEED_* vars.
Nit: fixed in 6c77465. Both dev-users.ts lookups (authUser and the credential authAccount) now order by createdAt, id.
Also since that review: 2baef43 removed the project_units.metadata migration. Milestones are matched by (projectId, name) again, so this PR no longer changes the schema.

Author's fix claims, checked against the code: all ✅
Name de-collision:resolveBibleByIdentity checks bibles.name on every insert path and uses the sync's ${name} (${abbreviation}) form. All three insert sites (IRV, BSB, demo) now insert resolved.name.
Resolver tests: the lookups are injectable. The 10 cases cover every branch, including both throws, and run in npm test. This closes FA-R11 for the resolver and the reseed patch rules.
FA-R3/FA-R12:fapi.ps1 db:seed now matches fapi.sh. No db:seed:dev-users or SEED_* references remain outside the historical betterauth-scripts-and-seeds/plan.md.
Tie-break nit: both dev-users.ts lookups now order by createdAt, id.
Seed-marker revert: milestones reconcile by (projectId, name) again, which matches plan.md Task 4 Step 2. The PR no longer changes the schema.
One question (no inline anchor, because the migration files are no longer in the diff):
0041_project-units-metadata existed on this branch from 913c5b3 (Oct 16) until 2baef43. The test plan says db:setup:qa ran against the QA Azure DB, and setup.ts runs drizzle-kit migrate first. If that run, or any shared dev DB, applied 0041, the DB still has the project_units.metadata column and a __drizzle_migrations row that no file in the repo matches. The leftover column is harmless (NOT NULL default {}), but the drift is invisible.
Please confirm whether it was applied.
If it was, drop the column and the journal row, or reset that DB, before main's next migration lands.
All earlier threads are resolved, and I found nothing new to block on.

src/db/seeds/demo/projects.ts:50-52 🗄️ Data Integrity & Integration | 🟡 Minor | ⚡ Quick win
Adopting an unmarked same-name project during reseed contradicts the invariant in this file.
The invariant at src/db/seeds/demo/projects.ts:50-53 says reconciliation must not claim a user-created project that shares the name. The fallback at lines 61-88 does the opposite. When no row carries seedTag, it selects the oldest (name, organization) match. If that row has no metadata.seed, lines 75-85 set existing = candidate and write seed: seedTag to it. Lines 111-125 then overwrite the row's name, sourceBibleId, pericopeSetId, status, sourceLanguage and targetLanguage to the spec values.
A standalone db:seed run against a populated dev or QA database with an unmarked same-name project in the demo organization can therefore overwrite that project's fields. The stamped marker makes later reseeds keep reconciling it.
Fail on an ambiguous match instead of adopting it. The throw runs before the adoption write, so the row is not modified:
Suggested fix
if (candidate) {
const marked = (candidate.metadata as Record<string, unknown> | null)?.seed;
if (marked == null) {
- existing = candidate;- await db- .update(projects)- .set({- metadata: {- ...((candidate.metadata as Record<string, unknown>) ?? {}),- seed: seedTag,- },- })- .where(eq(projects.id, candidate.id));+ throw new Error(+ `Project "${project.name}" (id ${candidate.id}) exists in this org without a seed marker. Rename it or set metadata.seed to "${seedTag}" to adopt it.`+ );
}
}
This removes the legacy adoption that lines 62-63 describe. After this change, a reseed against a database with an unmarked same-name row fails until an operator renames that row or sets its marker. A maintainer must decide whether that behavior is acceptable. Rows marked for a different key still fall through to insert, as they do now.

Add orderBy to the three .limit(1) lookups in dbLookups.
The dbLookups queries call .limit(1) without an orderBy. As per coding guidelines, .limit() must come with an orderBy (FA-R7). The unique constraints on bibles keep each lookup deterministic today, so this is a rule-compliance fix, not a runtime defect.
Based on coding guidelines, the rule text is: "Queries are deterministic and safe. .limit() comes with an orderBy."

Add an orderBy on bibles.id before limit(1) in each of the three lookup queries
in dbLookups: byExternalId, byAbbreviation, and byName. Preserve their existing
filters and return behavior.
When both IDs match, ensureResource returns the text resource row as the audio recording. Playback then treats the text resource as the selected recording. The seed path has no check for this case, and the DemoBible type cannot enforce it.
Suggested fix
Add a guard before the audio resource is created. Thrown errors stop the seed run, so the spec author sees the mistake immediately:
+ if (spec.audioExternalId && spec.audioExternalId === spec.externalId)+ throw new Error(`demo bible ${spec.abbreviation}: audioExternalId must differ from externalId`);

Reject duplicate Bible abbreviations in the demo spec before seeding.
seedSpecBibles maps each spec abbreviation with ctx.bibles.set(spec.abbreviation, bible.id) (line 103). A second entry with the same abbreviation replaces the first ID. Projects that reference the abbreviation then link to the last entry's Bible, and no error is raised. A second entry with a different externalId also creates a suffixed Bible row, so the spec ends up with two Bibles and one map key. Nothing in the seed path reports the lost mapping.
Reject duplicates at the start of the function, before any writes:
Suggested fix
export async function seedSpecBibles(ctx: DemoCtx) {
+ const abbreviations = (ctx.spec.bibles ?? []).map((b) => b.abbreviation);+ const duplicates = abbreviations.filter((a, i) => abbreviations.indexOf(a) !== i);+ if (duplicates.length) {+ throw new Error(`Duplicate bible abbreviations in spec: ${[...new Set(duplicates)].join(', ')}`);+ }

Record the FA-R6 exception in the PR body.
The clear-assignee write in the demo reconciler does not write a chapter_assignment_assigned_user_history row. FA-R6 requires that row for any assignee change. The plan documents the clear-without-history behavior as intended. The repository's exception process for a knowingly unfollowed FR-R item is the PR body: name the rule ID and the reason under Standards exceptions. Confirm the PR body has an FA-R6 entry for cleared assignees that cites the plan's reconciliation section. Add one if it does not.
Do not amend docs/guides/code-standards.md for this case. The checklist has no exception clause for FA-R rules. A schema change is not required by the repository rules. FA-R6 can be satisfied by a documented exception instead.

Cover the spec Bible context mapping with a PGlite integration test.
Removing ctx.bibles.set(spec.abbreviation, bible.id) at src/db/seeds/demo/bibles.ts:103 would not fail any test that npm test runs. The regular bibles.test.ts imports only demoBiblePatch. No regular test references seedSpecBibles, DemoCtx, or ctx.bibles.
Without that write, a suffixed Bible has no entry in ctx.bibles. ctx.bibles.get(project.sourceBible) in src/db/seeds/demo/projects.ts:25-26 then reads a missing ID. Keys not in the map are resolved by bare abbreviation, and a miss throws Unknown bibles (src/db/seeds/demo/bibles.ts:126-134). The lookup can therefore resolve a row found by bare abbreviation instead of the intended Bible.
Add a *.integration.test.ts case on PGlite. It should run seedSpecBibles with a suffixed identity and assert that ctx.bibles.get(spec.abbreviation) equals the seeded row ID. Unit tests must not vi.mock('@/db'), so this case needs real SQL on PGlite.

This PR adds data seeds for demos and the QA environment. It's goals is to make the environment reproducible with seeded data to a know state.
On key note is that a
DBLkey is required to fetch the bible book text for the seeded bibles. Otherwise, the seed enqueues the job to fetch the data but it will fail.Summary
